A ground floor residential apartment with garden, stunning views and creature comforts for up to 7 people. Comprising of 1 double bedded room. 1 bedroom with a single bed and bunks-single bed can be moved to make double with the bottom bunk. Both bedrooms are well equipped with cupboards, plus a very large storage unit in the hallway. A camping cot and high chair for children under the age of two are available. Open living room-dining area with sofa bed for 2, easy chairs, Satellite TV, DVD, radio and broadband . Very well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, oven, hob and microwave. Corner angled benching unit with large table. 1 shower room with WC and basin - 1 cloakroom with WC and basin. Garden furniture - fantastic views down the valley to the Matterhorn. In the basement of chalet is a lovely restful sauna, shower room, communal boot room, washing machine, tumble dryer (shared with other apartments). Car parking. Thyon-Les Collons is a true paradise for winter sport fans, with downhill skiing, snowboarding and dog sledging all within a setting that provides breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, Dent Blance etc.The high altitude of the resort means that favourable snow conditions are guaranteed throughout the winter season. 100 ski-lifts-450 km of pistes one of the largest ski regions in Europe.The ski area above Les Collons is fabulous with wide open, sunny slopes perfect for all, including one of the most famous ski slopes in the Alps, Piste de L'Ours. Good skiers can ski to Verbier in just over an hour. Ski schools for children.During the summer, it's an ideal hiking/biking area. Thyon-Les Collons boasts several marked trails.Two downward trails begin at the top of the Etherolla chairlift and join a third at Thyon 2000 that takes mountain-bikers from Thyon 2000 to Les Collons via a tobogganing slope. Skiing: Ski passes are available at the Agence Les Masses office (ALM) which is the little wooden hut by the restaurant - they are open during normal office hours. High quality equipment hire is readily available Ski boots and skis can be hired from Genolet on the second level of Les Collons - we also believe that mountain bikes can be hired here.

Perfect weekend!

We booked the chalet for a last minute weekend of snowboarding in late March 2009, and couldn't be happier!

The chalet was better than described! Clean, warm, comfortable, and afforded a great view across the valley. Located just a short drive away from the resort it offered tranquility, but conveniently located just a short drive from all facilities you could require. The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant.

The snow and slopes were fantastic, and we were able to make it across to Verbier and back for lunch one day. I must say that I preferred the slopes closer to Thyon over Verbier as they were much less busy, and equally rewarding.

Local restaurants were superb, we highly recommend La Luge and when we visited it was very busy, most patrons appeared local which made for a fantastic atmosphere, quite different from the large tourist resorts we have previously stayed in.

Would definately recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway on the slopes, and would definately stay there again myself!

Summer Bliss!

As summer holidaymakers rather than winter skiers, we found the apartment and location perfect for our needs. The kids adored the slide in the garden and spent most evenings trying to catch grasshoppers!
We loved the peace and quiet; there was loads to do, yet there were far fewer tourists than in other parts of Switzerland we'd visited before.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. We felt at home from the moment we arrived and enjoyed eating our evening meals out in the garden taking in the magnificent views. Had it rained, we'd have been glad of the TV/DVD player, but fine weather meant we didn't even switch it on!
The agents were very accomodating to our late arrival and whilst the apartment was a little difficult to find at first (SatNav didn't recognise Les Masses), we soon found our feet.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay which we aim to repeat next year.

Family ski holiday

Fantastic apartment, private luxury. Better than described in advert. Added extras such as great C.D collection and baby equipment made this apartment perfect for us. We didn't need to use the fire warm enough.

Les Masses has a chair lift however we didn't use, drive up no problem (needed car for baby). Excellent ski hire, my son wanted to buy his boots! Great ski school meant we made the most of our holiday. Older child in advanced class went all over, younger son and I were equally challenged. No queues for lifts, great snow, apparently always has snow. Didn't use creche but checked out, fine no problem, mature experienced staff. Also great childrens area for younger ski school.

We had sunshine every day an ate our lunch outside. Food and drink expensive, shock at first, you get over it! Worth it for location.

Superb location and facilities

What views, what a comfortable, homely chalet. Snowy nights curled up in front of a roaring fire, glass of wine in hand - bliss.

The skiing is excellent, something for everyone from the complete beginner to your real powder-hound. The 4 Valleys is massive, you can ski all the way from Les Mass to Verbier in an hour or two, and see how the nobs winter!

Would recommend to anyone. An excellent base for a winter break.
