Set in a clearing amongst Spanish Chestnut trees, intermingled with Acacia and wild Cherry, this comfortable gite offers a high standard of accommodation. Ideal for exploring the Cevennes, the gite is within an hour of Uzes, Avignon, Nimes, Montpellier, Arles and the Mediterranean. There are beautiful rivers for both swimming and sunbathing, and great potential for hiking, biking, horse riding and tennis. The gite is 2 minutes from the village and 10 minutes from Anduze. Anduze is known for its potteries and weekly market, and many good restaurants to suit all pockets. Also close by are the famed Grottes De Trabuc and the world renowned Bambouseraie Park. An authentic steam train runs between Anduze and St. Jean du Gard. The gite is fully equipped. Each double bedroom, having its own shower and WC, leads directly onto the garden, pool and BBQ area.

A short drive from the bustling market town of Anduze on the river Gardon de Anduze, well known for its potteries and the world famous Bambouzeraie, Le Gamaos nestles on the east side over looking the the valley of Mialet. The medieval market town of Uzes and the city of Nimes with its Roman arena and good shops, are just half an hour away. The magnificent Cevennes hills, the spectacular gorges of the Tarn and Ardeche, the sandy Mediterranean beaches, the Camargues and major visitors' centres such as Avignon, Orange and Montpellier are all within easy reach. Two excellent restaurants within walking distant of the Gite, 5 in the village and a surfeit in Anduze cater for all tastes and pockets.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The property is let by the week-Saturday till Saturday. Arrival should not be before 4 pm and departure before 10 am. Prices include electricity, linen, towels etc. For winter heating there may be a surcharge.
    A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking. The balance (75%) should be paid at least 8 weeks prior to arrival. A bond of £250 against damage and breakages is required with the balance payment. This will be returned by cheque within one week of departure, provided the property has been left in good order.
    Cancellation policy. In the event of cancellation, clients are liable to the full cost of the rental unless the owners are able to re let the property when a refund will be made. We strongly advise clients to arrange holiday insurance that provides cancellation cover.
