Originally a small fishing village, Corralejo has now expanded to provide more amenities for residents and tourists. Whether you want to chill out on the fabulous beaches, try some of the extensive water sports that are on offer, go shopping or try some delicious local cuisine, Corralejo has it all.
The more modern facility consists of a marina for pleasure craft and room for the ferry services to Lanzarote and Lobos, a small island that is a 15 minute ferry ride from Fuerteventura. There are various trips that run from the harbour, and bookings for these can be made at one of the booths dotted about the area.
The town is surrounded by sand dunes and miles of sandy beaches that form a nature reserve, these beaches are exposed to the wind which makes them ideal places for wind and kite surfing. Some of these beaches are used by naturists, Fuerteventura has a relaxed attitute to naturism and as such there are no designated naturist beaches.
