Skiing:
Hotel Kielhuberhof in Ramsau am Dachstein is an ideal starting point for the entire region ski amade, and in particular for the 4-mountain ski area: Hauser Kaibling - Planai - Hochwurzen - Reiteralm. The Planai cable car in Schladming can be reached in only 5 to 10 minutes, by car or by ski bus. Parkings in Schladming are at your disposal. But we would recommend to go down by skibus which is free of charge once you have your skipass. The skibus stops just outside the Hotel.
Ramsau has about 40 km of ski slopes for alpine skiing. There are several t-bar lifts with sunny slopes, which are ideal for beginners. For the advanced skiers, the Rittisberg is a good choice. A four-man chair lift and a t-bar lift let you have some great skiing on the 'main skiing hill of Ramsau': five runs, which are for all levels of skiing. The pistes are well groomed, quiet with mostly locals with rarely any lift queues. On the top of the Rittisberg and down at the lifts, there are good restaurants.
Golf:
We are partner-hotel of the Golf & Country-Club designed by Bernhard Langer, 6 km off Ramsau, between Weißenbach and Haus. Hotel Kielhuberhof guests get 20 % off the green fee.
Cross Country Skiing:
Ramsau am Dachstein offers 220 km of cross country tracks and skating trails on three levels of altitude (1100 -2700 m).
Starting point of the tracks is the cross country stadium in Ramsau Ort. There are 12 routes which count, all together, 150 km for classic cross country running. Easy, intermediate and difficult slopes are 50 km each. The longest route is the 'Rittis-Track', with 21 km, the sunnyest track is the 'Sonnenloipe' with 6 km. Beginners will appreciate the 'Standardloipe' with 18 km.
The sport slopes for skating are 70 km, also with starting point cross country stadium. The original slopes of the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 have been slightly modified and are now accessible for every skier. All of the sport tracks 1,5 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km, 7 km are made as 'one way track'. The further skating tracks 10 km 'Schildlehen' and 30 km 'Dachstein' have partly both directions.
Ski:
Great skiing in the Ski Amade Skiing region. 860 km of downhill slopes on one ski pass.
Also, there is great off piste skiing, ski mountaineering, freeskiing and snowboarding. On the Dachstein Glacier, you can enjoy winter sports even in summer
