The house is very quiet and peaceful with an acre and a half of gardens giving complete seclusion without being isolated. It is in the Dordogne valley and benefits from the sun all day long. 2002 was the first year the house was made available to rent and most of the furniture was newly purchased then. The house has central heating so is available in the cooler periods of the year as well. The garden is completely secluded with 1.5 acres of lawn, it also has local fruit trees including a walnut tree and peach trees. A fenced swimming pool (10mx5m) is to the rear of the property surrounded by trees and plants and a stone barbecue is on the corner of the terrace.The partly covered terrace means you can lie out in the sun or relax in the shade, the garden furniture includes 2 tables 8 chairs and numerous sun loungers.

A beautiful property on the edge of a small hamlet (Le Monteil) situated between Lamonzie St Martin (5 mins by car) and the medieval town Bergerac (10 mins by car). In Bergerac you have plenty of restaurants, local shops, and supermarkets with the river and surrounding countryside offering plenty of recreational activities.A bit further away you have St Emilion (30 Mins by car) for those who want to sample the world famous wine and an excellent Golf course at Chateau Vigiers, near St Foy le Grande.There are good communications to Bordeaux and the coast if you fancy a day by the sea (approx. 2 hrs by car) and of course you could head further inland towards the historic towns of Sarlat and Cahor.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The house is available at other times during the year, please contact the owners for further information.
    Prices are per week. The changeover day is Saturday, arrival should be between 4-6pm with departure no later than 10am, this is to allow proper preparation of the property between guests. We would ask you to leave the property in a clean and tidy state.
    Maximum occupancy is 8 people.
    We require a 25% deposit on booking, the balance to be paid 8 weeks before rental date.
    Sheets, Duvet Covers, Pillowcases and Towels are not included in the price.
    We do offer a bed linen service, whereby each single bed is provided with two pillow cases, a sheet and a Duvet case (a double bed receives 2 extra pillow cases).The cost to this service is £10 per bed per change of linen. E.g. if you want one double bed and two single beds for 2 weeks then please add £30 to the total cost of the holiday, if you would like fresh bed linen for the second week then add £60.
