A modern two-bedroom apartment ideal for summer or winter holidays. Really well equipped for self-catering but within a stones throw of restaurants, shops and sea-front. Air-conditioning for summer, heaters for cooler winter evenings. A four minute stroll to the sea-front. Cabanas has a wide range of traditional restaurants open all year round. On the ground floor of apartment block is a coffee shop/cafe, serving home cooked local food,etc. On the adjacent block a lovely bistro. The fantastic Cabanas beach is reached by a 2 minute boat ferry, across the lagoon. The nearest golf course, Benamor is 5min drive away and others within 15 minutes. The area is a haven for bird-watchers and ideal for cycling. Well serviced by regular bus and train services for those who do not want to hire a car. There are four shared swimming pools all set in well maintained gardens and a well equipped play area for the smaller children. Think about some winter sunshine and check our Obtober rates.

Nearest Airport: FARO 45 min drive at 60 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 500.0 Metres
Car: not necessary
Only four minutes from the seafront and lagoon, part of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, two minutes ferry to the fabulous Cabanas beach, were even in mid season you can find a spot of your own. The beautiful town of Tavira is just a 10min trip away and considered by many to be the Jewel of the Algarve. A short drive to the traditional Olhao Saturday market is certainly worth the effort. Spain is only 2mins down the road, with the add another couple of hours and find yourself in the vibrant city of Seville orthe sherry capital Jerez. Faro is often missed other than the airport, but well worth a visit. The coastal motorway puts the whole of the Algarve within easy reach. Good supermarkets close by, but not to be missed is the local morning fish and fruit market on the Cabanas seafront, were the mornings catch can be bought and cooked for lunch. Three local butchers and two bakeries offer the best of local produce. A dozen or more restaurants should cater for all tastes.

Notes: The apartment itself should prove no problem but it must be noted that it is a first floor apartment, which involves stairs. A choice of four communal swimming pools. The balcony will comfortably seat 4/6 people and is furnished with table, chairs and sun parasol, there is a portable electric barbecue for lunchtime sardines!

GOLF: Top quality golf courses abound along the Algarve, and there are 4 top quality courses within 25min drive. Benamor a par 71 is less than 5min away. Quinta da Cima a par 72 10 mins away. Quinta da Ria, another par72, 10mins away. Castro Marim, also par 72, 25mins away.

CYCLING: Cabanas is on the Algarve mostly off road cycle route which eventually will stretch the full length of the Algarve, we have cycled as far as the Spanish border in one direction and Barril Beach in the other. April 2009 took cycles on train to Fuzeta and cycled to Olhao, there is no charge for cycles on train in Portugal, which allows you to easily take the train and cycle in many different areas, enjoying the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa National Park.

WALKERS & BIRD WATCHERS: The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, is a short walk from the apartment, this world famous reserve is the home to many, many species of birds, flora and fauna put Ria Formosa into your search engine for more information and be amazed. There is a newly opened off road cycle and walkway from Cabanas to Tavira past the salt flats and home to some of the most amazing birds.

A fantastic apartment in Cabannas

Thank you for such a great holiday. The apartment was better than we expected and was perfectly situated to enjoy Cabannas and the surrounding area. Cabannas is a wonderful little fishing village with great restaurants and shops (inc a very good supermarket). The beach was great and the little ferry service was brilliant.
All together it was a great holiday. We will be back and will certainly re-book the apartment. Thanks again!!!

Myself and my family absolutely loved the apartment and location. I would certainly recommend staying here, in fact I have only been home 3 days and have just re-booked for later in the summer. The owners provided the most excellent service, the property was more than adequately equipped and spotless on arrival. There was nothing about our first visit to the Eastern Algarve we didn't like, the service and standards of the local restaurants and bars were good, however there was one particular large and extremely busy fish restaurant on the 'front' where we found the staffs approach quite clinical, although the food was very good indeed. We hired a car at the airport in order to maximise the potential of our stay and will do so again as there were so many places we wished to visit but did not have the time, however upon arrival at Cabanas a car is not essential as there is plenty to do there, there are many trips/tours available at a reasonable cost and also a local train station.
