La Casetta is located on a medieval road in the historic centre of Modica, it has a full kitchen, eating area, sofa bed for extra guest, a 3 pcs bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink. Access to the upper floor (loft) is by a circular staircase, there you have a kingsize bed, knight tables, dressers...It is a very clean and centrally located property, nearby have supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, boutiques stores and lots of historic sites to see...Modica is famous for its chocolate; every year in March the Eurochoccolate expo is done here, hundreds of thousands of chocolate lovers come to enjoy its delicate flavors.
In March 2003 UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has acknowledged that the city of Modica and its surrounding areas to be added to the WORLD HERITAGE LIST for the baroque treasures it holds in its historic buildings and architectural design unique only to this part of Sicily, Modica, built between two valleys and hills is known for its Baroque architecture, has restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and shops.Modica is also called the Positano of Sicily. The town of Modica was so particular until the middle of the last century that it was called the second Venice of Italy: it is situated on the valley where two torrents merge into each other and there were a lot of large and small bridges to connect the zones of the lower area. The town is shaped as a 'broken pomegranate', climbs up the ridges and reaches the top of the castle, happy image that Gesualdo Bufalino coined for Modica.
