The Algarve & Alvor: The Algarve has a temperature climate almost all year round and boasts about 300 days of sunshine. Tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quietens down in winter. The wonderful sandy beaches of the Algarve are unspoilt and amongst the best in the world. Explore the majestic Sierra de Monchique or the rugged beauty of the western tip of the Algarve. Water sports such as swimming, snorkeling and big game fishing are popular along this coast when exploring the caves and grottoes. Water parks and theme parks are also on hand for the children.

Local food: The local food just has to be tried, with fresh fish straight from the mornings catch. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, and producing some of the best food of the region. With local wines and mouth watering steaks, what more can you ask for!

Lovely is the perfect word

My husband and I have just spent a perfect week at this lovely apartment. The location is quiet yet near to all the restaurants and walking distance of the beach. Being ground floor it made it is easy to walk straight out to the pool and sunbathe adjacent to the apartment - not far to get the odd glass of wine. The interior was excellent and had all the things we needed during the week.

Support/communication from the owner and Jose in Alvor was excellent.

Alvor is a beautiful place and we aim to go back next year either with friends or just the two of us again. The choice of restaurants is hard to beat and there is something for everyone's choice and pocket. September is a good time to go as it is a little quieter but the weather is good.

Highlights were sitting on a balcony eating a wonderful meal at night overlooking the harbour and watching the fisherman still carrying on their traditions after coming ashore with their catch.

We went to alvor for a week, and loved it. The apartment was stunning, very clean, and perfect for what we wanted. Would definitely return in the future.

I spent 4 days in this great apartment in Alvor. Everything was excellent, from the great customer focused Peter to the little touches in the house. If you are looking for a quiet holiday in a lovely Portuguese town, this is the house for you! I hope to be back next year.

Sunny and Lovely Week in Alvor

Apartment facilities and situation was the best of our week in Alvor. Dimensions and mainteinance were good in a quiet complex with wonderfull swiming pool used daily.

Since the early decision of choosing this apartment, the owner was helpfull explaining all facilities and usual needs.

Alvor itself is a charming town with lots of restaurants, not too crowded as Portimao or Playa da Rocha or any other closests locations.

We will recomend the apartment to our friends for future situations.

Nearly perfect

Overall we were extremely impressed by this apartment and Alvor. Peter and Anabela were very helpful, and arranged for someone to meet us at the apartment when we arrived, to provide the keys and show us in. They texted us throughout our stay to check everything was ok. We had a bit of difficulty finding the street (the owners sent links to maps but these were a bit tricky to follow) so it may be worth asking for exact directions.
The apartment is very clean, with all the facilities you would need. There is a large patio looking onto excellent grounds and a very well maintained pool. The complex was very quiet and there was rarely anyone else in the pool.
Alvor is wonderful, a short walk into the main shopping area, daily food market, bars and restaurants. We ate out most evenings and the restaurants were excellent, especially for seafood. We had gone to Alvor for kitesurfing, there is a school in Alvor and others based in Lagos, both using the Alvor lagoon.
Things that could have been improved were the bed, which was rather small, very creaky and generally uncomfortable (we ended up sleeping on the sofa). Also there were no maps or information in the apartment (we left ours for the next visitors). There was no loo roll, soap, washing up liquid etc in the apartment when we arrived. For people arriving late, this might be appreciated.
Otherwise, we had a great time, very relaxing, and we were really impressed by the standard of the accommodation and the charm of Alvor itself.
