From the artfully refurbished original floorboards to the magnificent nineteenth century iron bath, this tastefully restored Georgian residence is a real treat to anyone looking for a refreshing and authentic alternative to the sterile and characterless accommodation so prevalent today. No expense has been spared in combining the original character with all the comfort and trappings of modern convenience. Three of the four bedrooms are en-suite while the kitchen comes equipped with an array of accessories. All that you could possibly need to make your stay both restive and restorative is included. The house is situated in the very heart of the beautiful village of Kinnitty, nestled at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. This is a wonderful base for exploring and discovering the Slieve Bloom and its Environmental Park, there are many walking trails, two equestrian centres, Kinnitty Castle Hotel, the ancient monastic site of Clommacnoise, Birr Castle Gardens and Telescope, Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Lough Boora Parklands, Birr Heritage Town and much more. There are also three full Golf courses within a 20 minute drive with many more in close proximity to Kinnitty. The Shannon river is only a 20 minute drive, while one of it's most magnificent lakes, Lough Derg, and it's array of activities, is only 35 minutes away. Fishing is very popular in the area, both on the Shannon and its many tributaries. Local Festivals include Birr Vintage Week (Aug), The Tullamore Show (Aug) Tullamore Phoenix Festival (July), Slieve Bloom Storytelling (October), Irish Fleadh Ceoil in Tullamore (Aug ) as well as weekly organised walking trips with the local club. Kinnitty Castle is a centre of Irish music.
