Photos and Description of this Ceglie Messapica holiday house 3 Bedroom house sleeps 7, large courtyard and grounds. Spacious accommodation

Set among over 200 fruit and olive trees, our beautiful 3 coned trulli and adjoining house (lamie) is built around a central courtyard. Although peaceful, it is not isolated and is only 5 minutes from the wonderful town of Ceglie Messapica (known as “city of gastronomy,” famed for its restaurants and with a great local pool) and 15 minutes from Cisternino. The lamie has three large bedrooms and two bathrooms and has been designed so that one or two families or groups of friends can holiday together but also have their own space and privacy when required. The main sitting and dining area is in the trulli itself (there is also an extra single sofabed in here). The courtyard has a shaded area with table and chairs for alfresco meals and loungers to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The orchard is a great and secure place for children - for exploring, picking seasonal fruit and making camps. The house has central heating for the cooler seasons and there is an open fire in the trulli

Our trulli is ideally suited to people who want peace and quiet but who also like to be in easy reach of good restaurants, beaches and historic sights. The local area is characterised by beautiful scenery of olive groves and white truly dotted around the countryside. We are within a triangle of three important and very different towns - as well as the restaurants and quaint old town of Ceglie, there is the sophisticated Cisternino (11km) and the famed 'White City' Ostuni (9 km). Local white wine is produced in Locorotondo - again a short drive away. The best sandy beaches are half an hour's drive and there is a very well maintained communal swimming pool in Ceglie. The many interesting local historical sites include caves, churches and the famous Roman ruins at Egnazia. Further afield but still easily accessible for a day are the baroque town of Lecce, the caves at Castellana Grotte and the cave-town of Matera. Greece, Croatia and Sicily are close enough for a short stay.

We stayed in this very clean and comfortable house for 10 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. All the comfort you need is offered. Our kids liked to pick the fresh almonds and crash them with a stone. They were busy for hours, playing in the paddlingpool, checking out the area.

We come to this area for years already because of family living there. There is a lot to do. We liked a lot the swimmingpool at Ceglie Messapica and the Fasano zoo safari. Great for the kids. Ostuni, Cisternino, all the place nearby have their own and special character.
