Casa Settema is a luxury, south facing villa divided into the TWO separate wings Casa dell'Ovest and Casa dell'Est, each self-catering for 8 people and ideal for families or groups of friends, max 16 people.The villa is part of an exclusive, recently converted using traditional materials, gated farm complex, Il Pino. Approached along a cypress lined driveway, the hilltop views across the Val di Chiana are stunning with uninterrupted views from the pergolas and the private swimming pool to the south, west or east.The house is beautifully furnished from local artisans.Although away from it all there are numerous tourist attractions nearby or easily accessed by car or train,Terontola station 10 min.The villa is ideally placed for visiting the Southern part of Tuscany, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Montepulciano or day trips to Florence, Rome, San Gimignano, Assisi, Montalcino.Cortona our nearest hilltown famous as an Etruscan settlement and for the 'Under The Tuscan Sun' summer music festival.

Casa dell'Ovest is the western wing of the villa. The excellent views looking west and south across the Val di Chiana from the garden can be enjoyed under the pergola from the large dining table. The house has been tastefully restored and beautifully furnished with local antiques.The open fireplace in the lounge complements the central heating for winter use. For those hot summer nights there is full airconditioning. The dining room has a large dining table and there is a separate artisan built fitted-kitchen. Upstairs the master ensuite bedroom has a balcony with splendid southerly views. The house has internal shutters and mosquito nets to all windows to aid a peaceful night's sleep.

The villa situated in Southern Tuscany is perfect for visiting all the beautiful Renaissance hilltowns of Cortona, Arezzo,Siena, Perugia, Lucignano,Pienza, Montepulciano within 30 to 45 minutes drive.Assisi is just over an hour. Daytrips to Florence and Rome are possible by rail from the nearby station of Terontola. Lake Trasimeno with boat trips and water sports and walking in the Val D'Orcia are both within a 20 minute drive. The Etruscan hilltown of Cortona,with artworks, museums, unique shops and first class restaurants is only 15 minutes by car. For the more serious shopper the Val di Chiana Outlet Village is easily accessible by car.The area is in/adjacent to one of the top three wine areas of Italy, Brunello at Montalcino and nearer vineyards to visit in the Montepulciano region.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental rates are the same for each wing. A payment of 30% of the holiday cost is required at the time of booking. the balance along with a security deposit of 150 Euros is payable two months before the holiday start date, the security deposit will be returned once the house has been checked and the keys returned. No refund is payable within one month of the holiday start date and you are advised to take out holiday cancellation insurance. Change over is Saturday, other days may be possible by agreement. Guests are requested to arrive after 3pm. You will be sent keys (or will be greeted on arrival) along with detailed directions at least two weeks before the holiday start date. Departure time is 10am.

Wonderful stay at Casale d'ell Est

We had a wonderful stay with two families in the Casale d'ell Est. The house fitted our expectations and is fully equipped. The children (between 2 and 11) loved the well mantained pool and we enjoyed the stunning views from the pergola during our breakfast and dinner. Shops and good restaurants are very close and the location offers a good starting point for sightseeing tours. We recommend very much to visit Cortona and the other small hill towns.

Casa dell'Ovest.

Just a quick note to recomend this villa. We had a wonderful stay at Il Pino. Thank You! We definitely want to stay again. The property is accurately described and is beautifully located.

The Villa has all the equipment we needed and has the feel of a family home. The Pool is only shared with one other property and is therefore very private.

The Boys loved the pool and the dining area outside. My wife liked the local towns and found the restaurant testimonials v. useful. I found the accessibility of all of Tuscany a real advantage for driving- its so easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit - Also the wild-life - Hares, Crested Hoopoes and what looked like a Peregrine Falcon were all in residence!

We had a truly great time and did not want to leave.

Beautiful view, relaxing setting

I have just come back from a very relaxing break at Casa dell Est. The panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside from the pergola adjoining the villa was stunning. The villa is really comfortable and is in a great location for accessing the many quaint, nearby towns and villages. We had some great days out sight seeing, shopping and dining. Highly recommended!
