The Grand Massif Express lift is now open in summer as well as winter; this is fantastic news for walkers, bikers, paragliders and sports enthusiasts alike.
Winter facts….The Grand Massif is the 4th largest ski area in France and has one of the lowest lift to beds ratios…so much smaller queues than other well know resorts. Samoens now has a high speed lift from 1600m up to 2500m…this means less queuing, less time on the lifts and more skiing!
We are also offering some fantastic alternative activities in the winter, so if you are a non skier there are plenty of other exciting things to take part in, why not try our snow shoeing trip for example...a fantastic experience after which you can enjoy a delicious Savoyard meal in a Yurt on the side of the mountain!

Ski:
Part of the Grand Massif, one of the largest ski areas in Europe. It is made up of Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt and Samoens. It offers extensive skiing and snowboarding, with a great snow record which is one of the best in the Alps. Beginners are well catered for in Morillon on the extensive groomed nursery slopes. Intermediates have a whole host of runs to chose from locally, or that can take you far a field to neighbouring resorts and beautiful tree lined runs. There are numerous reds and black runs locally and of course over in Flaine, where experts are well catered for.
