Approximately 250 years old. C/H with radiators in all rooms, fly screens on all windows. Two large chimneys. Outside there is a WC/shower room within the 2000m2 area dedicated to private garden and pool area where there is a split level terrace of 650m2 and a large 12x6 rectangular pool, a summer kitchen equipped including a wood burning BBQ. Parking for many cars and plenty of outside lighting. The dining/sitting room is spacious, with a wood burning fire and 5mtr high walls. The kitchen is fully equipped. Large reception hall with 5m walls. Center hall with 2m2 open fireplace and beamed ceilings. Large 40m2 Family bedroom sleep four. Spacious fully fitted bathroom with bath, hydromassage shower. Separate WC, fully fitted laundry. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, both rooms lead to a sitting room with gallery. ( A part of the house, not included in the above description, is closed).

Hondon de las Nieves is truly unique. This mountain village is surrounded by valleys covered with vineyards and almond trees. Locally produced fresh produce including almonds, olive oil, pears and wine, all can be purchased in the village at very reasonable prices. Hondon is far enough away from the cities to be peaceful and relaxed, but close enough if you need to spend time shopping or site seeing. The access roads to Alicante and Elche are good, just a 20 to 30 minute drive. Closer still are the country towns of Aspe and Novelda. The mountains and valleys are to be enjoyed. Walking is very popular in these parts, as is cycling and hang gliding, and there is much to see and experience. The higher altitude brings cooler evenings during the summer months.

  • The owners of this property live in Spain, close to Alicante. The property is maintained regularly and the cleaning before and after a rental period is overseen by the owners. All linen and towels are provided, however, beach towels are not. Smoking is not permitted withing the house. Sorry, but No pets are allowed. There are NO extra charges for cleaning or laundry.

    Security bond. The property will be inspected on your arrival by you along with either the owner or a representative of the owner, this usually take a five minutes. The bond is requested at this time. Before you leave the property at the end of your stay, the property will be inspected once again, by owner and you, and the bond will be returned to you before you leave Spain.

    The owners thank all past guests for having taken so much care of the property during their stay, so far, all guests have received a full bond refund before leaving the property.
  • On your arrival, you will be met by the owner of their representative. After your journey, you probably just want to relax by the pool. With this in mind, they do not want to take any of your holiday time. However, it is beneficial to show you around the house and the grounds, this only takes a few minutes. Once this is complete, you will be left to enjoy the house and your holiday. the owners live close by, they are available if needed.

Notes: There is a large summer kitchen which overlooks the pool (12x6m2). This is an ideal place for all the family to prepare meals while keeping a watch over the children in the pool. There is 10,000m2 of land to be explored and a few areas which can be enjoyed for their own uses, e.g there is a pleasant pine tree shaded area, with hammocks and stone table and benches. This is an ideal place to relax on those hot summer afternoons. Winter visits. There are two open wood burning fireplaces and central heating Nearby there is a sports center that has a swimming pool, sports facilities and a restaurant. In the village, there are a number of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, medical center, pharmacy, petrol station and wine cellars, (Bodegas).

The great inland Spain: Inland there is an alternative Spain as beautiful as the coast but maybe a little more relaxing. This is the part of Spain that many people refer to as 'the real Spain', they may be right, certainly this is Spain as it used to be, the original Spain if you like. Here you find country properties nestled between the many lemon & orange groves or vineyards and almond trees that can be found inland from the Costa Blanca. This is also a mountainous area with some peaks reaching 1200mts above sea level, not so high, but high enough to notice a difference in the air. The country villages still have a relaxed atmosphere and the architecture hasn't changed so much in the last 100 years, neither the local customs. Life is definitely relaxed in the countryside, there is no rush, things happen when they happen and most people, native and newcomers enjoy this positive characteristic of country lifestyle.

Quality of life..: Another great benefit to country living is the local produce. Not only is it fresh daily, but it is very affordable. A lot of these regions are wine producing areas and you could be satisfied at both the quality and the value for money. In most regions wine can be purchased from the local 'bodega', wine cellar. So If this relaxed lifestyle starts to become too difficult to endure!, fresh produce, local wine, great air to breath, well you can always take a 20 minute drive to your nearest city, Elche, where life is full of all the usual amenities you expect to find in any similar city or town. If you are looking for good healthy country living, peace and quite, and just a short journey to the city , beach life, and airport, then this could be the place for you.
