Beautiful private 3200 sq ft home with views of nature reserve. You have the Florida Everglades in your own garden! A true haven for nature lovers. Aligators, dolphins, manitee and many more species can be spotted from the garden deck. A huge variety of fish to be caught and birds to be seen. This older style, individual property is furnished to a very high standard. 3 spacious ground floor bedrooms, all with own bathrooms. Contemporary first floor king bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Access to covered upper balcony with far reaching views over peaceful mango groves and creek. The balcony is protected by the two story lanaii so it is an ideal spot for those champagne sundowners! We have spiral stair access to heated pool and patio. Large outside entertaining and dining area with kitchenette and BBQ. Inside you have a large open living/dining and kitchen with separate Florida Room for peaceful relaxation. Own boat dock and lift which is available for long lets.

Enjoy the local hospitality and music on a Gallery Walk and Trolley bus ride. Visit Fisherman's Village where you will find restaurants and individual shops catering for all tastes. There is a local beach and harbour with fishing, dining and water sports. Easy access to Port Charlotte for mall shopping. Beach resorts of Boca Grande, Sanibel, Captiva, Englewood and Manasota Key are all close by either by car or boat. Outlet shopping at Coconut Point, Miromar and Town Centre at Fort Myers all within easy reach. Visit Babcock Wildlife Park or Old Town Arcadia for a day with a difference. There are many local golf courses. Most importantly you have the opportunity to study the local wildlife, such as alligators, manatee and dolphins. Why not take a high speed ferry ride from Fort Myers to Key West?

Additional information about rental rates

  • Deposit.
    £100 for each week or part week booked. Full payment will be due 10 weeks before the booking commences. Bookings made within 10 weeks of arrival require full payment with booking.
    Minimum period of stay 1 week. For part week bookings (beyond one week) if less than 4 days half the weekly rate will be charged. Over 4 days will be charged at the full weekly rate.

    Security deposit.
    We will require a security deposit of £500 per booking, which will be held until the property has been vacated and cleaned by our house keepers. Any damages or loss will be charged to this deposit.
  • Cancellation.
    If cancellation is made prior to 10 weeks of the arrival the deposit will be refunded. Any cancellation within 10 weeks of the arrival will result in the loss of any payments made.
  • Cleaning charge.
    There will be a cleaning charge of £75 per booking, payable 10 weeks prior to the start of the booking.

Notes: Children are welcome but under close supervision only, due to the close proximity of the local wildlife. The garden is NOT enclosed and has a steep bank which leads straight into the creek. There ARE alligators in the water! All linens and towels are provided including beach towels. The house has an attached garage and additional parking. The beautiful mature gardens have accent lighting at night. The gardens are automatically irrigated each day. Within the two story lanaii there is a large pool and patio area with plenty of seating for out side eating for 10 people. There is a gas barbeque for your use and a small drinks refrigerator under the out side kitchenette. There is water, a sink and extraction in this area. There are two circulating fans with lights above the dining table. There are external speakers which run from the audio system located in the lounge. The nearest supermarket is a four minute drive away.

Relaxing family Vacation In Punta Gorda

We have recently spent two fantastic weeks in this superb house on Shell Creek with our two daughters, sons-in Law and our fifteen month old granddaughter. The accomodation is first class and everything we needed for a great vacation was thoughtfully provided by the owners, including a cot and high chair for our youngest, fishing equipment for fishing in the creek at the end of the garden, equipment for having fun in the large heated pool, outdoor dining facilities with gas BBQ and much much more.
The house is truly first class, it is clean and tidy, furnished to a very high standard and very well maintained.
The location is ideal as it offers a peaceful and relaxing environment where you are able to relax in the pool or fish in the creek away from the busier parts of Port Charlotte or Fort Myers, but is still within easy reach of the restaurants, stores, malls and numerous golf courses in the area. The superb Gulf Coast beaches of Boca Grande, Captiva Fort Myers etc. are also a relatively short drive away.
The wildlife in and around the creek is amazing and during our two weeks we were very fortunate to see aligators, turtles, herons, a racoon and even a manatee on two seperate occasions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation on Shell Creek and would recommend both the area and this holiday home to all of our relatives and friends visiting South Florida.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Peaceful Punta Gorda

We had a fantastic week in Punta Gorda. Your lovely house was a perfect base for us to experience the Florida Everglades. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for the seven of us. We loved the pool and the fishing in the creek, we caught some amazing specimens. Anyone lucky enough to stay here will have a thoroughly relaxing time.

Shell Creek -our little bit of paradise in Florida

If you are looking for a place where you can totally relax, enjoy the sun and while away the hours by the creek, fishing, sipping chilled chardonnay, watching basking alligators and manatees as the sun sets - this is the place for you. The house is ideally situated - not far from lots of things to see and do - but set away from the busier areas of the fort Myers and Port Charlotte areas.

The house is pure luxury - everything you could ever need in a holiday home. The pool area is large and the dining area outside also is a real bonus with a gas BBQ too. The gardens are beautiful and mature.

We are returning to the house for the 7th time this year. We never stray far as the house offers such a relaxing opportunity but we would recommend trips to the beach at Boca Grande and Captiva, a visit to Venice and we have done a day trip to Key West by Catamaran from Fort Myers. Punta Gorda downtown is ever changing - with new places opening all the time. Our favourite places for food and drink include: Celtic ray, Deans,River City Grill The Ice House, and the Working Cow for the very best ice creams. There are grocery stores only 5-10minutes from the house and a fantastic German Butcher going north on the 41. If you are looking for a deli - try Presseller in the town centre- good for beach picnics.

The property owners always make contact to ensure all is in place when you have arrived at the house and a local family in the neighbourhood are on hand if there are any problems.

Our first visit to the house was the first time we had ever booked a villa - and we have not been anywhere else since. Prairie Creek is so relaxing, has everything you need and is perfectly located for an allround holiday.
