As good as it looks, and better!

We stayed at Villa Mirante in August 2009 and were not disappointed. We have 3 children so they were overjoyed at the swimming pool which is very clean, safe and large - with shallow and deep ends (so suited both 7 year old and 15 year old). The Villa is immaculate, with very large rooms (the pictures are not deceiving at all), beautiful furniture throughout, and the gardens are beautifully looked after (with sprinkler system). The Villa is completely un-overlooked. Neighbouring Villas are a good distance away, so no-one cares how much noise your children make or what you get up to (within reason!). It is nicely positioned, so attracts the Sun all day round from Dusk til Dawn. The Views of the Ocean are incredible, especially at Sunset. The Villa is well located for the beaches to the West of Albufiera (Praia de Gale, Castelo, Coelho, Salgado - which were all extremely nice sandy beaches with great waves, good retaurants, ice cream parlours, clean toilet/shower facilities) and the Villa is close to local shops and supermarkets. The Owners were lovely and left us very much to our own devices which we like. The cleaner came in a couple of times a week and changed bedding and towels etc. The Villa has all you need, from satellite TV (we watched Eastenders!), BBQ, Crockery, Rubber Ring, Bottle Opener etc. The Air Conditioning was a treat, and the pool can be heated if you wish, though the temperature of the pool in August was fine without it.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Villa Mirante and the area west of Albufiera for a family holiday. ZooMarine was a nice day out for the Children and is only about 2-3 Kms from the Villa, which was perfect. This was our first time in the Algarve, and I'm sure we'll visit again. We found the restaurants at the Fishermans' Beach in Albufiera to be some of the best and had menus to suit all tastes and wallets.
