Unforgetable Holiday

I stayed here for two amazing weeks at the end of July/beginning of August. The villa can be found down quite a steep set of stairs(approx. 50)Positano is pretty much made up of stairs and hills.Once I was inside the villa I began exploring straight away. It was so traditional and very typically Italian-it was beautiful. There was a cleaner who would come in twice a week and any extra times you requested. The villa was very well equipped, very clean, and extremely well kept-and btw the air conditioning was amazing and i doubt we would have survived the 2 weeks without it! There was an english woman,Julie, employed by the owners who welcomed us and We were able to contact her for any help or advice on simple things-like where to eat, where we should visit and the easiest ways to get there.
Most days we would spend the morning on the top balcony catching the sun, as after lunchtime the villa would be in shade. Then we would either stay there and read our books or head down the 250 steps to the beach (not the best fun walking back up!but all part of the experience)The bottom terrace was ideal for mealtimes, with a large round table, giving more than enough room to the 6 of us! At night we would either go for a walk around the town or just sit on the top balcony enjoying each others company and soaking in the atomsphere of lights, boats and the people moving around below us.
We did a few day trips-one to Pompei(which is a must see, however be advised to go as soon as it opens so you can be away by noon- busy and very hot!) -and a boat trip to Capri(beautiful island but not much to do unless you want to go shopping). We didnt use the buses for travelling on this holiday but booked a taxi -i highly recommend Giovanni from tourofitaly company. He really played such a big part in our holiday and it wudnt have been the same without him. For food, some restaurant can be very pricey. I would recommend those down at the beach and a few further up the hill from the villa-ristourante mediterraneo,Lo Guarracino, and ristourante saraceno d'oro-further up the hill the cheaper and still as good! While in Positano I went kayaking with my family-not overly expensive and great fun! This was one of the best holidays iv been on,i didnt want to leave the villa, felt like home. The food is like nothing you will ever experience in anywhere but Italy, and Positano is a breath-takingly, beautiful, unimaginable place.I only wish I had space to write more!
