This prestigious and beautifully restored palazzo, with private pool, located in a small village, is available for year roundholiday rentals. The property has four floors comprising the following: Lower ground floor; self contained guest suite including double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and cantina. This guest suite has direct access to the pool, terrace, BBQ and garden. Ground floor; Beautiful eat-in kitchen which leads out to a terrace with a magnificent view perfect for alfresco dining, family room with TV, formal dining room and cloakroom. First floor; 2 double bedrooms 2 bathrooms and living room with TV. 2nd floor: Master bedroom with magnificent terrace and view, ensuite bathroom. There is an additional outdoor pergola with BBQ and dining alongside the pool. Please note that the swimming pool is NOT fenced from the house. In the village there is a deli, butcher, church, trattoria/pizzeria, bank and a newspaper vendor, supermarkets are five minutes away.

The property is located in a small village sitting on a picturesque ridgeline in the heart of one of the major wine and olive growing regions of Tuscany. It is only 30 minutes from Pisa Airport and 50 minutes from Florence. The village is away from main roads but with very easy access to other major historical centers such as Sienna, Volterra and San Gimignano, all with Etruscan and Roman ruins and restorations to explore. Within the surrounding district are many wonderful local restaurants specialising in Tuscan fare and vineyards offering tastings and sales. Also nearby is the spa town of Casciana Terme offering health and beauty treatments at the famous spa. The south of France (Monaco) is four hours away by car, the mountain resort of Abetone is 90 minutes away. The Tuscan seaside resorts are close at hand and the beautiful Cinque Terre National Park is an hour away. The ferry ports, with access to the Islands of Elba, Sardinia and Corsica are also a short drive away.

  • All the bedrooms have either double or queen size beds, some of which are beautiful French antiques, all the rooms are very spacious and two of them have magnificent Tuscan vista's and another has poolside access. The rest of the furniture throughout the house is in keeping with the ambiance that the owners have set out to achieve. The single bed on the mezzanine in the self contained apartment is suitable for a child only as the headroom is limited.

Enchanting house in idyllic surroundings

This restored villa was an absolute joy for my family to experience - superlatives cannot do it justice. The recent restoration has provided all imaginable comforts for visiting families without corrupting the character of this stately centuries-old home in the Tuscan countryside. A gem!
Owner's Response: Paul and his family were a joy to have in our home and were very responsive to suggestions that we made about the local area for sightseeing and dining. Perfect guests.

We have been lucky enough to visit Tuscany many times, however, this is surely the most spectacular villa we have stayed in. The attention to detail is absolutely stunning along with the views and ambience of this wonderful place. The local people were friendly and welcoming and I would recommend this beautiful Palazzo and region to everyone. We have had the privilege of participating in the olive harvest which has been an amazing experience. We will be back!!!

wonderful stay

We had a lovely time in this villa which is very comfortable, beautifully renovated and has amazing views as well as being in a great location to explore key places in Tuscany. The village is tiny but locals are welcoming especially if you try a little Italian. We have stayed in many places in Tuscany and this has to be the best so far - we will be going back. Only downside - steep stone stairs so I would be uncomfortable recomending to people with small children or as website says elderly or infirm.
