An easy walk from the historic town of Barban with its shops, bars, restaurants, a bank, tourist and post office, etc, and only 10 minutes drive from the prettiest beaches in the area, this bright, spacious apartment is ideal for a family holiday. The air conditioned lounge, which offers lovely views over the vineyards of Barban, has a sofa (which can be made up to a double bed), Satellite TV and Hi-fi. The dining room-kitchen has a dining table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen area, including dishwasher and large fridge. There is one spacious double bedroom, one twin-bedded room, and a separate bathroom with a good sized shower, washing machine and plenty of hot water. Outside there is a large garden, with a safe play area for the children, which adjoins open meadowland. There are also 6 bicycles for the use of the guests.

Melnici is a beautiful, traditional Istrian farming village, surrounded by meadowland, woodland and small fields, criss-crossed by miles of paths - ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding. They have spectacular views of the mountains (less than 40 minutes drive away) and on a clear day (of which there are many) you can see the sea. The prettiest beach in the area is less than 10 minutes drive away and there are shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach. A variety of local, natural produce is available including, milk, cheese, vegetables, salads, meats and wine. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and many speak English. The company Istra Zivot is run by an English couple who live here permanently. They have fallen in love with the life and people and wish to show you just how wonderful the region is. Pula, Porec, Rovinj, Rabac are all just a short drive away and you'll soon realise how central we are to all the best tourist sights.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We require a 15% deposit to secure the booking, payable either by Bank Transfer or Credit card, with the balance payable on arrival either by Credit Card or in Cash.
    The invoiced amount must be in Kuna (the local currency). If payment is made in Euros or British pounds, the exchange rate will be the Hypo Alpe Adria Bank mid rate as quoted on the day of receipt (less any commission charged)
  • Prices include PDV (VAT) but Local Tourist taxes and Registration are additional items and will be shown separately on the invoice.
    Local Tourist taxes range from 2 kuna (approx 27 cents) to 4 kunas (approx 55 cents) per adult per night depending on the season. Children under 12 years old pay no taxes, Children between 12 and 18 years old pay half rate taxes.
    The One-off Registration fee is 30 kuna (approx 4 euros) per person
  • We can offer a range of Food Starter Packs ranging from just the basics (eg Coffee, Tea. Milk, Bread, Butter, Wine and Beer perhaps) to a full shopping service. Just let us know what you might want and we can advise of the cost, purchase the items on the day of arrival and add them to your bill.

He can meet you at the airport with the car if you wish and similarly pick it up from the airport on your return. Just ask us for a quotation and we can then make the necessary arrangements for you.

Barban is a lovely little town / village.: Barban often has little festivals and attractions. Please email for details. This is the home of the Prstenac festival which is becoming quite an event here each year, where the horse rider has to locate and joust a hanging ring to gain points! All at very high speed!
