Wohnen Sie in einem altem worlde; wohnung als Teil eines istrischen Steinhaus in einer ruhigen Straße in Barban mit fantastischen Blick auf das Ucka-Gebirge. Die Unterkunft besteht aus einem Erdgeschoss-Wohnung mit einem Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, ein Badezimmer und einen grossen offenen Wohn-, Esszimmer, Küche mit offenem Kamin, Esstisch und Holzschnitzereien von den Eigentümern Mann geschaffen. Es können bis zu 4 als eine oder zwei Einzelbetten können im Wohnbereich zur Verfügung gestellt. Draußen gibt es Parkplätze, eine Terrasse mit guter Schatten durch reife Kiwi Pflanzen und ein Grillplatz zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Unterkunft wurde mit drei Sternen. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit Istrianer und geeignet sind, um sicherzustellen, dass Sie jederzeit gut genährt und 'verwässert'. Barban is an ancient small Town, surrounded by meadowland, woodland and small fields, criss-crossed by miles of paths - ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding. They have spectacular views of the mountains (less than 40 minutes drive away) and on a clear day (of which there are many) you can see the sea. The prettiest beach in the area is less than 10 minutes drive away and there are shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach. A variety of local, natural produce is available including, milk, cheese, vegetables, salads, meats and wine. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and many speak English. The company Istra Zivot is run by an English couple who live here permanently. They have fallen in love with the life and people and wish to show you just how wonderful the region is. Pula, Porec, Rovinj, Rabac are all just a short drive away and you'll soon realise how central we are to all the best tourist sights.

Barban is a lovely little town / village.: Barban often has little festivals and attractions. Please email for details. This is the home of the prstenac festival which is becoming quite an event here each year, where the horse rider has to locate and joust a hanging ring to gain points! All at very high speed!

Other Activities: GoKarting, 4x4 driving, Quad biking, Sailing, paint balling, Golf, Grape and Olive picking

We could not have had a warmer welcome from the family owning this apartment; almost daily gifts were left for us: wine (from their own grapes), honey (from family beehives), fresh mushrooms, cherries in alcohol. We felt more as if we were visiting friends than renting an appartment.
The rooms, although fairly basic, are spacious and spotlessly clean and there was constant hot water and an open fire (which we didn't need) in the living area.
Barban is a delightful, small village with shops, although in October some were not open every day however the supermarket opened from early morning until 9pm and most foodstuffs etc could be bought there. It took 20 mins in the car to reach a series of beautiful secluded rocky coves where we swam and many of the historic towns and sites of Istria were within an hour or so from Barban. For those who like walking, swimming and old towns and villages, the appartment is ideally situated.
The tiny streets leading to the appartment were very narrow so a minibus or van might have problems reaching it but the main square of Barban is only a couple of minutes walk away and has plenty of parking space.
This was our first visit to Croatia and we would certainly visit again: stunning countryside, lovely people, and a delightful place to stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing
