Situated in picturesque surroundings and only a short walk away from the village of St Estevao, this recently built villa offers its visitors a totally relaxing stay and is certainly a place to 'chill out' and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. All living areas are spacious, light and airy, with the main lounge and dining areas for up to 10 people overlooking the pool - perfect for families and couples to socialise. There are 2 ground floor bedrooms sharing a house bathroom and 2 first floor bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms and sun terraces that offer the most spectacular countryside and sea views. All have fitted wardrobes. The entire house has air conditioning and mosquito nets at the windows. To the outside, there is plenty of parking space, some garden area and a number of terraces which offer shade or direct sun, as well as a traditional brick BBQ and dining furniture perfect for al freso dining. Sun beds are also supplied for use around the pool.

'Poco das Bruxas' itself is a small rural area with orange groves and orchards and several other houses. St Estevao village can be reached in 15 min on foot and has a small range of facilities including cafes, restaurants, 2 grocery shops and a post office with free internet sessions. There are an abundance of excellent clean beaches close to the villa. We have 2 recommendations: Barill Beach is reached by taking the main EN125 road for around 4kms. The seashore itself is reached by small train - which delights children - and once there, visitors are rewarded with clean and expansive white sands as well as a full range of amenities including beach restaurants, shops and sunbeds and shades for hire. The lovely town of Tavira is very close by (around 5kms) and offers a much wider range of shops, bars, restuarants and of course its beach island. Car hire is recommended with this villa.

  • • Rates are for up to 8 persons:

    Travel cots are available at 20 Euro per week and 12.50 Euros for subsequent weeks . A 20% deposit is required to secure the reservation with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. All charges include cleaning before arrival, cleaning and change of linen once per week and cleaning after departure. All linen and towels are provided.
  • • Payment is preferred in the specified currency. We may have to charge you for any bank fees incurred should the payment be made in a different currency. A Refundable House Deposit of £150 or 150€ is required.
  • • Long term winter rentals are available at reasonable rates. Winter months may attract a small additional heating charge. Please enquire for further details. Changeover days are flexible. Normal check in time is 4pm and checkout 10am. These times will only be applied if absolutely necessary and we will accommodate arrival and departure as fully as possible. Villa care company available throughout stay for assistance if required. Linen change and cleaning weekly.

The beautiful town of Tavira: When staying in this accommodation a visit to the beautiful town of Tavira is essential! You will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoiled charm, character and tranquillity. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history dating as far back as 2000BC. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal. Horse drawn carriages and a small train operate around the town and are perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The many churches (37 in total!), the town castle and the typical fisherman's harbour leading to the River Formosa Natural Park are all places to visit, along with the wonderful daily market selling fresh home grown produce. Tavira Island and its wonderful beach is accessible by ferry boat from the town and offers excellent facilities with a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

Local beach and things to do and see: The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches and Barill is no exception. Around 4kms away towards St Luzia, the beach is reached by small train. The beautiful, white expansive sands are accompanied by a range of facilities including beach restaurants and sun beds for hire. By travelling a little further afield there are a good range of things to do for everyone. For nature lovers, forest walks, cruises along the River Guadiana or nature trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance! Travelling West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine all easily reached by car or by day trip coach. The Spanish border town of Ayamonte is approx 25 km by car, where the delights of another country can be sampled along with wine, Tapas and shopping. Ayamonte can also be reached by ferry from Vila Real. Seville is about 170km away, and budding historians may enjoy Castro Marim castle.

GOLF: This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Travelling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, along with its famous country club comes highly recommended and just across the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale courses now growing in popularity. We can organise a full golfing package with 1 price per head with play at a selection of these courses, car hire and rental of this villa. (Flights not included).
