The house is set in a secured gated and walled 3 acre site with large gardens and orchards growing many different fruits to pick at your leisure! There are 3 bedrooms, a comfortable lounge and spacious kitchen and a number of terraces. From the main entrance, the tower hallway with spiral stairs leads to a large turret sun terrace. All living rooms are located on the ground floor. There are 3 double bedrooms (details below) with 2 bathrooms. The kitchen/diner is fully fitted and leads to the open plan lounge with Satellite TV, VHS/DVD/CD player. The 4th Bedroom is situated in the Poolside Apartment with double bed, a sitting area, Sat TV, en suite bathroom and laundry room, thereby creating extra privacy for big family groups. The wonderful and unique feature of this property then has to be the fabulous poolside kitchen/dining area which is perfect for preparing and enjoying alfresco dining and BBQ. Whilst air conditioning is not installed the house is very cool and airy in the summer

Malhada da Figueria is a small village within the hills of Tavira and close to Manta Rota. Although not totally isolated, the farmhouse is in a tranquil setting where car hire is essential for grocery shopping. Approximately 1.5k away, you'll find 'Casa de Pasto Fernandes' - a good quality Portuguese Restaurant serving fish and meat. For a greater choice of restaurants, shops and bars, the town of Vila Nova de Cacela is only 6km South and offers more facilities including supermarkets, bus stops, train station and a bank. There is little evidence of tourism - this is a quiet town with friendly locals and reasonable prices but with something for everyone! However, the town becomes a hive of activity every 3rd Sunday of the month where there is a huge visiting market selling everything from fresh local produce to clothes, leather goods and hardware! A taste of the real Algarve This location is perfect for those seeking uninterrupted peace, no passing traffic and wonderful mountain scenery

  • Rates are for up to 10 persons. (Please note there are 4 double bedrooms, but it could be possible to supply 2 fold away beds or a fold away bed and a cot for an additional 2 children or adults if desired). A 20% deposit is required to secure the reservation with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.
  • Payment is preferred in the specified currency. We may have to charge you for any bank fees incurred should the payment be made in a different currency. Refundable House Deposit of £150 or 150€ is required. All charges include cleaning before arrival, cleaning and change of linen once per week and cleaning after departure. All linen and towels are provided.
  • Changeover days are flexible. Normal check in time is 4pm and checkout 10am. These times will only be applied if absolutely necessary and we will accommodate arrival and departure as fully as possible. Villa care company available throughout stay for assistance if required. Linen change and cleaning weekly.

Notes: Further details outdoors: As well as the many terraces providing both sun and shade at various times of the day, the pool area is magnificent and not only spacious, but has the most wonderful vista of the surrounding countryside. The large gardens are astro turfed and therefore makes an excellent play area for children.There is ample parking space for several cars at the front of the property. Smokers are welcome at this property it is requested that smoking is restricted to outside areas only. Both children and adults are well catered for with the additional use of 3 mountain bikes, a selection of pool floats, toys, books, snorkel and flippers, large selection of CDs, DVD and an I POD Docking station - ideal for the poolside! Given the rural location - there are no noise restrictions!!

THE BEAUTIFULTOWN OF TAVIRA : When staying in this accommodation a visit to the beautiful town of Tavira is essential! You will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoiled charm, character and tranquillity. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history dating as far back as 2000BC. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal. Horse drawn carriages and a small train operate around the town and are perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The many churches (37 in total!), the town castle and the typical fisherman's harbour leading to the River Formosa Natural Park are all places to visit, along with the wonderful daily market selling fresh home grown produce. Tavira Island and its wonderful beach is accessible by ferry boat from the town and offers excellent facilities with a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

THE BEACH AND THINGS TO SEE AND DO: Manta Rota beach is approx 7 km away, and here you will find golden sands, rolling sea, sunbeds for hire and a selection of beautiful beach side restaurants. In high season live events and festivals are held just by the beach. In addition, the Manta Rota Beach Club hosts dancing and music inside with world famous DJs and live acts! - Great fun for the younger generation who seek a little night life! By car, there are a good range of things to do to suit all tastes. In the West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine, around 45 minutes away. You can also take a day trip to Spain. The lovely border town of Ayamonte can be reached in 15 min, and once there you can sample the delights of another country, including wine, tapas and excellent shopping. For the more adventurous the vibrant city of Seville is approx 170km away.

GOLF INFORMATION: This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Travelling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, along with its famous country club comes highly recommended and just across the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale courses now growing in popularity. We can organise a full golfing package with 1 price per head with play at a selection of these courses, car hire and rental of this property. (Flights not included)
