History: The “Gaunches” were the original inhabitants of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands, history believes that the earliest settlement was back in 200 BC. Their origin remains a mystery to this day, some believe they have Egyptian relations due to mummifying corpses while others believe they may be descendents from the lost city of Atlantis which is believed to be close to the Canary Islands. The Guanches worked the land and had a basic lifestyle using very primitive tools with the majority living in caves

Beaches: Fuerteventura is famed for its many beaches which in total is over 100, these range from the golden sand dunes in Corralejo to the miles of white sand stretching from Costa Calma down to Jandia, and the tiny coves you find dotted all round the island. If you love a beach holiday where all you wish for a sun, sea and secluded beaches then Fuerteventura is definitely for you.

Golf: If you like to play golf while on holiday, Fuerteventura is fast becoming a golfers paradise it now offers two 18 hole PGA golf courses, with the Fuerteventura Golf Course already considered an excellent course after being selected to host the 2004 Spanish Open. Then second 18 hole course Las Salinas is situated next door and has set its target to be the number 1 course on the island. There is a 3rd course in Las Playitas, Tuineje which has been granted PGA golf academy status and offers 18 holes. There are a further two courses planned and in development Puerto Del Rosario Golf and Jandia Golf.

A simple transaction with good communication with accurate description of the apartment. Given the option of being met at the airport and taken to the apartment. Although this and the offer of any assistance was not needed during the stay. Even a few esssentials had been stocked to make the arrival more amenable.
Most eventualities seemed to have been covered, with spares and even a library of DVD's and books for those wishing a more relaxed time.
The apartment is reasonabley situated to take the sun on its private balcony from early morning throughout the day.

Sited in Caleta there are multitudes of options to eat and drink and I can recommend the steak bar further up the street on the same side. You can't miss it, as batman is standing at the door. The quality of the meat dishes was exceptional and reasonably priced.
If you are interested in fishing, theres plenty of excellent rock marks within walking distance, with the offer of tuna and barracuda on lures and bait.
The harbour and beach are all in easy walking distance with the option to fish, whale watch or feed the resident sea lions.
For the beach bums there is an excellent sand beach adjacent to the harbour.
