The new build traditional style apartment is by the ski slopes of Chinaillon, 6km up the mountain from Grand Bornand. There are superb westerly views from the garden floor terrace. The scenery is beautiful and the skiing family friendly with some tough blacks and off piste options. In the summer Le Grand Bornand has a heated outdoor pool complex, archery, climbing, hiking, forest adventure, mini-golf, tennis, walking and running trails, biking and a small golf course and driving range. There is a classic category 1 climb to the top of the Col de Colombiere (Tour stage venue in 2007). The mountain bike options are endless with marked trails and down-hill routes. Paragliding is increasingly popular from the summit of Mt. Lachat. The apartment is furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings , leather sofa, 2 ercol armchairs, flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, iPod docking station, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There are 2 good bedrooms (one double and two singles).

Location: Le Chinaillon in France

Nearest Airport: Geneva at 50 Kilometres
Chinaillon is the ski area to Grand Bornand, an unspoilt Alpine gem. The attractive centre hosts regular farmers markets. La Clusaz (10km) is a large ski centre with a great range of Alpine and cross country skiing. Annecy is 30 min down the mountain and is a spectacular venue for sailing, water-skiing and swimming. The lake has a number of beaches with safe swimming areas with life guards. Geneva is a one hour drive.

I have now stayed at the appartment three times and each time have been rewarded with a lovely restful stay, excellent snow on uncrowded pistes, fine dining within strolling distance and a sunny patio with stunning views. the appartment is clean neat and has accommodated my teenage family easily without being under each others' feet.
I really recommend it.

Really Pleased with Apartment & Chinaillon

I spent a long weekend here, skiiing, earlier this year. The accomodation is really comfortable and has every facility you need for storage & drying of ski equipment. The apartment is just one minutes walk to the slope which connects to a great series of lifts and runs.
The village is really nice, has a variety of places to eat and shop.
Overall I highly recommend the Apartment & Chinaillon

I stayed for a long weekend of hill walking in September 2008 and had a great time. It was a perfect location for this, and very comfortable.
