Au Moulin Vieux is a house located in the countryside of southern France. The two storied house (120 sqm) comes with a garden (300 sqm) as well as parking place. Use of garage is also possible. The living space comprises of four rooms with a kitchen, hallway, bathroom, toilet and a storage room. In the garden there is a gazebo, barbecue, toys and more. The house is centrally heated and has an open fireplace (for cosy evenings). Our house is located between Narbonne and Perpignan, just as you enter Lanet, surrounded by grasslands and woods (up to 600 m high). The area is great for hiking, cycling and swimming. A lake for swimming is 15 km away and the Mediterranean approx. 60 km. Other places of excursion are hot springs (20 km), castles, Carcassonne, Sigan Safariparc, Dinosaur museum in Esperanza, Pyrenees, canoeing and rafting, Aaxat and Quillan, just to name a few. Winter sports are available in the Pyrenees approx. 1,5 hours away.

Shopping facilities in the village: The baker passes by every morning between 9 and 10 a.m., watch out for the honking. (except Mondays). The Cheese man (goat cheese) comes by on Thursdays around 12.30 p.m. They pass by the house. Other vendors of vegetables, fruit, meats and cheeses announce themselves by honking in the village. For the currant schedule contact Mrs. Stier. Organic vegetables are available at Bernatett and Pascal’s, just outside the village. At the moment Wednesday and Saturday are harvest days (only in summer). Lanet honey is available at Monsieur Marcel Pech. There is a small post-office in the village and another in Mouthoumet with an EC cash point facility.

Other shopping facilities: La Roque De Fa – Superette. Here is the smallest but closest supermarket located. A larger Intermarché with petrol station you can find outside Couiza, towards Esperanza. Markets: On Thursdays in Narbonne from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at canal Midi from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sundays in Narbonne at canal Midi from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sundays in Esperanza from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. typical French market. On Sundays in Perpignan from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. flea market and farmer’s market in the Arabic neighbourhood. Limoux is the next lager town. It’s about 45 min. drive by car.

Other Activities: Tennis courts are available in Laroque de Fa and Arques.

Die Unterkunft ist einem sauberen und guten Zustand. Durch die Hanglage ist der untere Bereich etwas feucht, bei guter Belüftung macht das jedoch keine Probleme. Die Küche ist optimal ausgerüstet, es fehlte an nichts. Herrlich ist der Garten mit Pool für Kinder, zum Erholen zwischen den Ausflügen und zum gemütlichen Sitzen und Essen.
Die Vermieter sind um das Wohl der Gäste bestens bemüht und immer anprechbar. Alle wichtigen Infos wurden gerne weitergegeben.
Wer hier Urlaub machen will, sollte Einsamkeit und wilde Landschaft mögen. Kulturelles kommt dabei in keinem Fall zu kurz.
Wegen der langen Anfahrtswege muß man Einkäufe immer mit einplanen.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, ein gelungener Urlaub.

Wunderbares Corbiere

Alle Angaben im Online-Inserat waren korrekt und sehr hilfreich. Das Ferienhaus war sauber und alle Funktionen in Küche, Bad, Toilette und den übrigen Räumen waren in Ordnung. Das Vermieter-Ehepaar war sehr nett und hat uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite gestanden und uns gut für unseren Aufenthalt auf Land und Leute und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbereitet. Ein Feriendomizil zum Weiterempfehlen. Im Herbst ist die Weinlese und das Probieren der verschiedenen Weinsorten von Interesse. Die Umgebung ist Natur-Pur und wer für Ruhe, Prima-Klima, Berge, Meer, historische Bauten, Museen, historische Kanäle, schöne Wochenmärkte, naturbelassene Produkte, gute Restaurants und nette einheimische Menschen ist sollte sich hier wohlfühlen.
