Shopping facilities in the village:
The baker passes by every morning between 9 and 10 a.m., watch out for the honking. (except Mondays). The Cheese man (goat cheese) comes by on Thursdays around 12.30 p.m. They pass by the house. Other vendors of vegetables, fruit, meats and cheeses announce themselves by honking in the village. For the currant schedule contact Mrs. Stier. Organic vegetables are available at Bernatett and Pascal’s, just outside the village. At the moment Wednesday and Saturday are harvest days (only in summer). Lanet honey is available at Monsieur Marcel Pech. There is a small post-office in the village and another in Mouthoumet with an EC cash point facility.
Other shopping facilities:
La Roque De Fa – Superette. Here is the smallest but closest supermarket located. A larger Intermarché with petrol station you can find outside Couiza, towards Esperanza. Markets:
On Thursdays in Narbonne from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at canal Midi from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sundays in Narbonne at canal Midi from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sundays in Esperanza from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. typical French market. On Sundays in Perpignan from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. flea market and farmer’s market in the Arabic neighbourhood. Limoux is the next lager town. It’s about 45 min. drive by car.
