At 2 hours from Marrakech, Essaouira, formerly Mogador, is a small fishing port at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, calm, has a beach of several kilometres long. The tour of the city requires no advice or guide better stroll and discover alone the Skala, the fish market surrounded by merchants of spices, the grains market, the bazaars by dozens. The craft is thriving: wood crafts, jewellery, leather, carpets, textiles, footwear in raffia. You may as well discover many picture galleries showing very interesting local painters. Many restaurants to taste Moroccan cuisine famous for its spices and perfumes. Three major music festivals take place each year: the festival of Gnawa and world music, the festival des Alizés and the festival of Arab-Andalusian music. The activities are many: walking on the beach, shopping, swimming, walks and excursions: Sidi Kaouki, port of Imssourane, Safi, Agadir, Marrakech, the Mogador Island). Essaouira is also a spot for windsurf and kyte.

  • Price is 700 € per week for the whole house and 5 or 6 people or 500 Euros for 4 people or less than 4 people, with two bedrooms (with double beds) instead of three; except period from December 22nd 2008 to January the 5th 2009: for this period the rate is 700 € per week for 4 people or less as well. In certain periods access to the terrace overlooking the sea is possible for a surcharge of 300 euros per week, please ask the owner.
  • A housekeeper will clean the house once a day and it is included in the rental price. She can cook (and she is a very good cook) with a salary of € 3 per hour to pay her directly.
    But, sorry, hours of households are not exchangeable against hours of cooking.
