La Tabatière is a pretty stone cottage, totally self-contained and situated in private, landscaped gardens just a short walk from the village of Vitrac Port on the river Dordogne, 6km south of Sarlat. With spacious living area, fully equipped kitchen and 1 bedroom, it comfortably accommodates a couple or small family. The private garden and terrace provide an ideal location for sunbathing or relaxing with a good book, and with the BBQ close by it is the perfect setting for an aperitif or al-fresco meal. Enjoy the local restaurants in the village (250m) or take a picnic to the beach (150m away). Why not rent a canoe and drift downstream, soaking up the wonderful atmosphere of the many chateaux and pretty villages en route? Secure parking. Short breaks and weekends possible. On your doorstep: A wonderful 9 hole, par 4 golf course at Rochebois about a mile away. All equipment can be rented and green fees are reasonable. Canoe hire at 200m, hot-air balloon rental close by.

Exceptional sites at Lascaux, known as the 'Sistine chapel of prehistory' and Les Eyzies not to be missed. Enjoy street entertainment in Sarlat, breathtaking views from Domme, the tropical gardens at La Roque Gageac, the medieval chateau in Beynac, the country market in St. Cyprien... the list is endless!   • A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking. This deposit is refundable provided an alternative booking for the same period is obtained. The balance amount is payable 6 weeks before arrival.
    The quoted prices include bed linen and towels (all changed weekly), electricity, water and gas charges. There is an end of stay cleaning charge of 25 Euro.
    A security deposit (against breakages or damage to the property is requested, in cash or credit card details on arrival. This is refunded on departure less any costs.

Notes: Living area: The spacious, bright sitting room has a cathedral ceiling, exposed stone walls and stairs leading up to the bedroom. The comfortable, convertible couch and armchairs are arranged around a log-burning stove and there is TV, DVD and music system for your enjoyment. A selection of books and games for adults and children is provided. There is a ceiling fan for your comfort on hot summer days and fire logs for chilly evenings. Kitchen: The kitchen area has a range of fitted cupboards and very generous work surfaces and is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven and fridge, as well as electric kettle, toaster and coffee maker. Tea towels are supplied and a hamper of French food awaits you on arrival in high season.The dining table seats 4. Access via French doors to the sunny terrace. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine, drying and ironing facilities.
