Review of Club Albufeira apartment ref. 409147
Review Submitted: January 9, 2009

Club Albufeira is conveniently located between the N22 Motorway and Albufeira town and is a short, easy drive from Faro Airport.
The complex is attractive and well-maintained, with shops, a small crazy golf course and 3 swimming pools featuring poolside bars and cafe facilities. There is a predominently family feel with the happy by-product that we experienced no disturbances at night!
The apartment itself is of an excellent standard. The 2 bedrooms (1 twin, 1 double with en-suite) are cosy with plenty of storage space, and patio doors which open onto the garden with a barbecue and outdoor furniture. Upstairs the living room provides a comfortable sitting area, with TV and even an X-Box, there is a separate family dining area, and a fully equipped modern kitchen. Doors open onto a balcony, adding to the overall bright and airy feel of the property.
The apartment is partly built into a hillside with the result that the temperature inside remained cool even in the heat of August.
Being just a couple of miles from the motorway (the N22 runs east-west for virtually the length of the Algarve) means that the entire area can be explored easily. Even our furthest journey, to the impressive Cap St Vincente/Sagres peninsula in the far south-west of the country took us just 90 minutes. In addition we visited the beautiful mountainous region of Monchique as well as a couple of water parks (Slide & Splash near Lagoa was our favourite), and of course many of the fabulous beeches in the area. Generally we found that they were less crowded in the west, but we spent most of our seaside days locally at St Raphael and Castello, beautiful beeches which were sandy, clean and safe.
There are so many restaurants in the area that it's difficult to know where to start, it's probably best to take a look at the owners' recommendations in the book in the apartment. However, one that would probably normally be overlooked is the roadside restaurant on the other side of the road a few hundred yards (hence walkable) towards Albufeira, called A Cocheiras. The food there was excellent, reasonably priced, and the service friendly.
Overall we had a super holiday, loved the accomodation and the area, and won't hesitate to return to both.
