Immediate vicinity:
Casa Almadraba is situated in what is arguably the best corner of the most exclusive urbanisation on the Costa de La Luz. Positioned on a cul-de-sac in the oldest corner of Urbanización Roche, for 9 months of the year you are normally able walk the 150 metres to the beach without seeing anyone. Once on the beach, one of the best on this coast, you can walk 8km in one direction (to the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri) or 1km in the other, to a series of protected bays with rock pools know as the Calas de Conil. The sea is normally warm enough to swim in right through to December, and it starts to warm up again at Easter. During the summer months, there is a choice of beach bars, and there are also good restaurants (walking distance) that are open throughout the year (el Timón de Roche and at the Hotel Barceló Sancti Petri). The Hotel Barceló also has a wonderful spa.
Within Roche itself there are basic shops and sports facilities (see above), all of which are walkable.
