Set at the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park our cottages in Kirkmichael are at the geographical centre of Scotland, 45k from the beautiful county town of Perth, 18k from the pretty Victorian town of Pitlochry which has a world famous theatre and 60k from Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle. This area is the heart of Scotland where history was made and within easy reach are Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and Blair Castle, all part of the story of the Scottish nation. Known as the home of golf there are approximately 50 courses within an hour's drive, from the St Andrews Old Course and Gleneagles to friendly little village 9 hole courses. Perthshire is renowned for the magnificent scenery of its lochs, mountains and glens and in Scotland the sea is never far away with picturesque old fishing villages, clean sandy beached and awesome cliffs all along the coast. Edinburgh with its splendid buildings, magnificent new Parliament building and its famous Festival is 90 minutes drive.
