Cajarc (10km) is our local town and the place we do our shopping! It is a charming little riverside town with ancient remains. The town is composed of quaint orderley rows of ancient houses arranged in circles around its church. There are excellent shops, street side cafés and restaurants and a Saturday afternoon market. Cahors (40Km) is the place to sample truffles and the almost black Cahors wine. A river boat trip is the ideal way to enjoy the magnificent scenery and the famous Pont Valentre bridge. A visit to the colourful Saturday morning market is recommended. Figeac (30Km): A charming, ancient city on the banks of the Célé river with winding streets and 15th century houses. It was also the home of Jean-françois Champollion, who translated the Rosetta stone, which is on display here. Saint Cirq Lapopie (20Km): An ancient village perched impressively over the Lot river with narrow streets and alleyways with timber framed buildings and renaissance facades.
