Le Logis du Pressoir is an 18th Century former wine estate, set in the historic hamlet of Brion in 3 acres of beautiful, secluded grounds complete with a small vineyard and fruit orchard. It is the ideal retreat for holidaying as a couple, a family or with friends, offering tranquility and relaxation in a delightful setting. Children adore the freedom to explore and play in our extensive grounds, while parents relax close by. Great care has been taken in the renovation to preserve its unique features and charm whilst providing every comfort and high quality amenities. Each gite is well equipped for your self-catering needs; family and French cookery enthusiasts alike. Guests always comment on our attention to detail and the child friendly nature of the property. Enjoy our heated pool, boules, table tennis, bikes and great walking and cycling straight from the garden. After a day sightseeing, it's the perfect place to take a dip, read, paint, or just unwind with an aperitif.

Les Lauriers sleeps up to 4 (or 6 using the sofa bed), plus cot, in 2 pretty bedrooms (double and twin, both en-suite). It is a traditional longere property and formerly a farmhouse on our estate. It boasts lots of original features, including two huge fireplaces and the original bread oven. It is a perfect living area for families or friends holidaying together, who are looking for plenty of space and comfort. The French style kitchen-dining room is very well equipped with lots of preparation and storage room. It has a large table with comfortable seating for relaxed, prolonged mealtimes. The spacious living room is great to relax in with cosy lounge seating and DVDs, reading material and games are all available for our guests to enjoy. The private terrace is nestled in our courtyard garden, planted with scented shrubs and flowers such as lavender, hibiscus, roses and clematis. It’s heaven in the Summer and a favourite place for sitting with a pot of fresh coffee and croissants.

Our gites are nestled in the heart of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), close to some of the most picturesque spots along the River Loire; perfect for cycling! North of Saumur and between the fascinating chateaux towns of Angers and Tours, we are well positioned for many popular sites in the Loire Valley. Our welcoming village boulangerie and café are a short stroll and a 3 minute drive takes you to the pretty market town of Beaufort, a ‘ville fleurie’, with it’s renowned Gothic church, a good variety of shops, supermarket, banks (and cash machines) as well as weekly market and organic market. Take a tour through the vineyards of Anjou, Bourgeuil, Saumur-Champigny and more, all within an easy ride. We are happy to recommend our favourite Caves for wine tasting and restaurants for local cuisine. Children need not worry as there are lots of child orientated activities on our doorstep, including themed chateaux, parks, a famous zoo & horse riding.

    Rental includes: heating, good quality cotton bed linen, bathroom towels, hand soap and toilet rolls, kitchen towels and generous welcome basket on arrival as well as weekly clean and change of linen and towels.

    A cot, highchair, booster seat and step and toys all available with no charge.

    The cottage is toddler safe with stair gates (top and bottom) and on upstairs terrace.
  • A security deposit of GBP 100.00 is requested for each rental against potential breakages or damage.
  • Changeover day is negotiable outside of Peak Season (July - August), subject to availability and agreement with the owners.

Additional Information:: We have a selection of reading material in each gite as well as a central collection of books, board games and an extensive DVD collection available to all guests. Having a young child ourselves, there are plenty of children's games and toys (indoors and outdoors) to make good use of. We also have a dedicated play area with swing and slide, playhouse and cars and tricycles. There are lakes nearby with sandy beach areas for paddling and using buckets and spades, which make a great alternative to days by the pool.

Owners on site:: As owners on site, Mark and Lisa are always available to help with anything you might need to ensure you have a really enjoyable and comfortable holiday.

Other Activities: visiting chateaux, wine tasting and gastronomy, canoeing / kayaking, pony trekking, children's theme park, lake with sandy beach area

We have just returned, this Easter, relaxed and refreshed from our second visit to Le Logis du Pressoir, and have already recommended the gites to several of our friends. Can't wait to go back and try out some of the other properties - especially the wonderfully romantic Pressoir gite with its commanding position and private deck, looking out over the Loire valley. Our gite on this visit, Les Lauriers, was even better than the photos. The overall feel was simple, chic, French rustic style but with no compromise on comfort or functionality -everything was well maintained and spotlessly clean. The beautiful bed linen, comfy beds and peaceful setting ensured we all slept like babies. We had a fabulous, huge and well-equipped kitchen - perfect for long, leisurely dinners, (washed down with some fine Cremant de Loire from the Gratien and Meyer cave just a short drive away along the banks of the Loire.) Lisa and Mark really have thought of everything - even a selection of cookery books for inspiration + generous supplies of olive oil and all those other condiments, basic supplies that are usually only found in miserly proportions in other holiday rentals we have stayed in. In fact a new, large supermarket just a short (5 minute drive) away also meant that food shopping was a doddle - giving more time to explore the local area. The same attention to detail and thoughtfulness was extended to the garden and indoor games and books supplied. Our teenage boys loved the table tennis and badminton on the lawn. It was too cold at Easter for the pool but on our last visit this proved to be a good place to make some new friends and cool off after a day's sightseeing. In short, beautiful gites, and a warm welcome from Lisa, Mark who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
