well furnished, great view to the sea

We really enjoyed our time in the appartment. Everything you need was there. It was really a short way to the beach. We also enjoyed taking a bath in the pool.
In the evening it was a pleasure to sit at the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the sundown over the sea.
In Sao Martinho are good restaurants, nice coffee bars and a real good pub.
It`s a good starting point for trips to Peniche, Alcobaca, Coimbra, Obidos, Nazare, ...

The view is gorgeous and the appartament is great, We love it!
Too bad it was only one week...
Next year we are going to repeat but it will be for two weeks, my son loved the pool, every morning when he waked up he ran to see the pool at the window of the bedroom.

We had a great time!

The appartment was ideal for us, a family with 3 young children aged between 4 and 9. It is very well-equipped. The view from the balcony on the bay, especially in the evening at sunset, was marvellous. The children enjoyed the pool very much. We spend also a lot of time at the beach, which is within walking distance (about 10 minutes walk at the children's pace).
Sao Martinho has a wide selection of good restaurants. We also took home many times food from a barbeque shop, that was specialised in barbequed chicken. This shop is about 3 minutes walk from the appartment. That combined with a salad was excellent as diner in the evening. As a consequence, we never used the frying pan during our nearly 3 weeks in the appartment.
The appartment was also ideal as a base for exploring other beaches along the coast as well as some of the cultural highlights close to Sao Martinho, for example Obidos or Alcobaca.

All in all, we had a really great time.

Our visit to Sao Martinho do Porto

We visited Sao Martinho do Porto in June 2009 for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is beautifully presented and has all mod cons which came in extremely handy. The views of the beach from the balcony are beautiful particularly at sunset. We found the pool was much bigger than we expected which was a nice surprise and very secure for children. A great choice of nearby restaurants and cafes right by the beach catered very well for children at reasonable prices and we found the Portuguese very hostpitable. We would recommend a day visit to Nazare which is only 20 minutes away by public transport. It is a little livlier and also has a beautiful beach.
We would certainly recommend a visit to Sao Martinho do Porto. Sophie and Luke from Kent, UK
