Undoubtedly the best location in the whole city

Review Submitted: August 12, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This wonderful home from home has absolutely everything that one could wish for to make the most of a stay in Carcassonne. Catherine and Jean provided an extremely generous welcome, which was very much appreciated after our journey there. The house is furnished to an exceptionally high standard whilst retaining much of the character associated with this part of the old city. It was wonderful having breakfast and looking out of the window up towards the medieval city. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the house.

Beautiful town house in Carcassonne

Review Submitted: July 25, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This beautifully renovated three storey house looks straight towards the soaring medieval walls of the Chateau Comtal. We were lucky enough to be staying on the night of the annual firework display and were treated to the most magnificent spectacle of rockets, lights and smoke - all from the house windows!
The owners are a charming couple who took time to greet us and make sure that we were happy with everything. They own a local vinyard and left us with two bottles of their own wine.
The house is very convenientlysituated within walkng distance of both the old medieval city and the 'Bastide' or new city. For basic shopping there is a baker and a mini-market a few doors away. Although the house has a garage we did not need to hire a car until towards the end of our stay. We found plenty to occupy ourselves within Carcassonne for a week. The house is extremely well equipped and very comfortable.

Well equipped, clean, fantastic Le Cite location

Review Submitted: June 4, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We (2 adults, 2 children aged 5 and 10) stayed week 24/5 to 31/5 2009 arriving Sunday teatime, and were welcomed by the owners, who had kindly left us food for our first evening meal (regional dish - a cassoulet) and breakfast (bread, jams, juice) along with a couple of their own bottles of wine produced on their nearby vineyard....lovely! The house has been recently refurbished to a high standard was very clean. It was very well 'kitted' out with everything you would need for a self catering holiday, from washing powder for the great utility room to the nice extra touches such as little bottles of shower gel, to the essentials such as plenty of loo roll and towels etc. The house is ideally situated at the bottom of 'le Cite', and you are five minutes walk to within the walls where there are lots of tourist shops and restaurants...or fifteen minutes walk into the new town over the old foot bridge. The area is ideal for adults, probably not so good for those with disabilities, and was enjoyable for children; however to make the most of the area with children, I would probably hire a car next time (there is a garage at the property) as the public transport was not so good if you wanted to go further afield (eg the local lake a 15 minute drive away - lovely beach there and clear water )...overall a very enjoyable holiday, and a beautiful property - wish it was mine!
