'The Wine House', a charming Provencal farmhouse of very high standards, is situated between the perched village of Flayosc and the market town of Draguignan, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The villa has four spacious double bedrooms, two with en suite shower rooms and toilets. Generously sized bathroom with bath tub and shower on the ground floor and two guest toilets. Sitting room with fire place, separate dining room, large well equipped kitchen. All floors are covered with ancient tiles giving the villa a rustic Provencal atmosphere. The Wine House has an old vaulted wine cellar and the rent includes 7 free bottles of wine per week! South facing terrace and covered dining & BBQ area. Lovely garden with lots of lavender, rosemarin, olive trees, a very old lime tree, roses etc. There is a private heated swimming pool (5 x 10m) further down the garden, a boule area and a badminton net. The garden, terrace and pool area are overlooking an olive grove.

The Wine House is situated in a quiet residential area, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, just between the perched village of Flayosc and the market town of Draguignan. Just 1 hour (90 km) from Nice International Airport. It's 35 minutes by car to Ste Maxime, the the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and 45 minutes to the Lake St. Croix and the Gorges de Verdon - the Grand Canyon of Europe. There are many picturesque villages in the area with good restaurants, shops & daily markets; Flayosc, Lorgues, Villecroze, Tourtour, Salernes, Cotignac etc. The beautiful evergreen landscape is filled with vineyards, olive groves, rolling soft hills with oak and pine trees. There are plenty of paths for both hikers & bikers.

Flayosc & Draguignan: Nearest village is the picturesque Flayosc (3 km). It's the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence, only 40 minutes away from the busy tourist spots of the coast. The village offers excellent shops for food, a weekly market, pharmacy, bank, several bars and restaurants, laundry/dry-cleaner and wine co-operative. It also has a tourist office offering excellent information about the area. Draguignan (2 km) is a medium sized market town with its old town wall, market place, restaurants and shops. There are several supermarkets.

History of Flayosc: Flayosc was a Roman settlement with a Roman road passing nearby. The village was defended by its circular wall of houses, much still visible today. In the wall you'll find three sarrazines doors and there are several ancient fountains. In the centre of the village stands the large St. Laurent church, which dates back to the 11th century, with its fortified and decorated bell tower.

Area: The Wine House is situated only 35 minutes away from Ste. Maxime, the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and the dramatic scenery of Gorges de Verdon, the Grand Canyon of Europe. Perched medieval villages, olive mills, daily markets, wine tasting and first class gourmet restaurants. There are 15 challenging golf courses within an hour's drive.

Fabulous place with beautiful surroundings!

Me and my family have had a fantastic stay in this beautiful house in Provence! It had all that we wished for. It is located in mid of Provence so we have had several interesting and fun day-trips for example down to small beaches and towns on the Riviera, went canoing in the Grand Canyon de Verdon, wine tasting in the neighbourhood, visit a goat cheese producer etc. In the morning we went for fresh bread and croissants in Draguignan. In the afternoon when we came back from a trip we relaxed by the pool in the gorgeous garden, my favorite place was under the fig tree with a book. In the evening we either went to one of the pictoresque restaurants nearby or cooked a nice dinner at the house. The kitchen is well equipped and it was lovely to sit on the veranda with a nice view over the beautiful garden. In Draguignon you can find everything from small bakeries, butchers etc to a large shopping mall. We can strongly recommend this lovely house! //Family with teenagers
