Our apartments in Les Chalets de Montalbert are located directly on the piste and only a short walk away from the village centre. This apartment is on the ground floor with views over Mont Blanc. It has 2 bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 6 but is ideal for 5 (42m2). Plagne Montalbert, which is a traditional, authentic French village with rustic alpine charm, lots of restaurants and is part of one of the worlds largest skiing areas. Plagne Montalbert is one of 10 villages that make up the La Plagne ski area. Tree-lined runs hold the snow until very late in the season and the slopes are covered by a network of snow cannons; so runs all the way home are practically guaranteed. A network of interconnecting chairlifts takes you right up to the topmost resorts. Unlike the ugly apartment blocks that dominate many of the ski resorts in the French Alps, Plagne Montalbert is delightfully unspoilt; a daily treat from glistening dawn to glowing sunset over the pine forests. It remains a traditional, friendly, village surrounded by stunning scenery: the Tarentaise valley to one side, Mont Blanc and surrounding mountains to the other.

  • Given the quality, size and location of our apartments, we have still kept our prices keenly competitive. We do not charge an under occupancy charge unlike many others. We do recommend that all guests sleep in beds in the bedrooms. This is for your own comfort and to ensure that the facilities including hot water are adequate. However, if you do decide to have additional people sleeping in the living room then we make a nominal charge per person to cover all of our fixed costs such as local taxes, supply of bed linen etc.
  • This apartment is normally a Sunday arrival.

Other Activities - As well as skiing, there’s a host of other winter sports activities to keep you amused at La Plagne. You’ll find further details in the information booklet in your apartment, and booking is usually as simple as contacting the tourist office. Here are just a few: Husky Dog Sleigh Rides: Children (aged 6-12) and adults will love the husky dog sleigh rides which course through Plagne Montalbert’s picturesque forest scenery. Contact: Mathias on 00 33 (0) 612 78 50 05 Prices: approximately €60 per 1.5 hours for adults and €28 per child. Day trips also available. Snow Walking: Explore the more remote (and often most beautiful) forested areas around Plagne Montalbert- snow shoe hire and guided tours are both available. Prices: approximately €9/day adults and €5/day children).

Bobsleigh: For the more adventurous (and those with transport) you can try out the Olympic bobsleigh runs at Plagne 1800. The Bob Raft is a self-steering 4 man bobsleigh. For the real thrills and spills of the sport, try out the Taxi Bob which is a “proper” 4 man bobsleigh driven at 100km/h by a professional driver; or go it alone in your very own Mono Bob. Prices: approximately €34 Bob Raft, €100 Taxi Bob and €95 Mono Bob. Hang gliding/Paragliding: Instructors are on hand to take you on a thrilling tandem ride over the magnificent scenery of La Plagne- it’s a thrilling way to get a new perspective on the alpine landscape.
