Las Filipinas – Orihuela Costa:
Las Filipinas offers several bars, cafes and restaurants to suite all tastes, within walking distance of our properties. Mercadona has a large supermarket, with fresh
fish counter, again within walking distance. San Miguel de Salinas is a small Spanish Pueblo(Town) with bars, restaurants, banks, shops and supermarkets. Here you will find the Tourist Office. The local market on a Wednesday is a real hub of activity and sells almost everything, including locally grown produce. The market is in the centre of the Pueblo and can be easily found. It is also a great place for meeting friends or just to stop by and have a coffee and listen to the ‘chatter’ of the local people. Transport is available by either bus or taxi at the top of the road.
Beaches:
There are numerous glorious beaches very close to our properties, as you would expect in the Orihuela Costa area. Punta Prima, Cabo Roig , La Zenia, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor to name just a few. These are some of the best “blue flag” beaches in the Mediterranean and most have entertainment areas for children, volleyball nets, climbing frames, bars and restaurants. Plus of course, golden sand and crystal clear water. The climate and the beaches lend themselves to a variety of water sports like wind surfing, board surfing, water skiing and so on.
South Costa Blanca Area/Torrevieja - Orihuela Cost:
The Market Town of Torrevieja has much to offer for its many shops, cafes, restaurants, and markets. Bargains galore are to be found at its night market adjacent to the town Yacht marina. Friday brings the largest street market in Southern Spain to Torrevieja, where you can buy almost anything. For those looking for active entertainment there is a choice of two Aqua Parks (open June-September). Karting, Horesriding, Watersports and Bowling Alley available locally.
A 15 minute drive South on the N-332 coastal road will take you into the Mar Menor region with its natural salt water lagoon with several blue flag beaches, safe bathing and warm water. The nearest beach is Playa Villananitos at Lo Pagan. At the beach are the famous mud baths, rich in therapeutic minerals. The sandy beaches in this area look across the Mar manor to the famous La Manga strip which has the renowned La Manga Golf Resort
