Kingsbridge holiday cottage "Luxury Holiday Cottage Devon" in Sherford

Our family (2 adults and 3 children aged 10, 7 and 6) stayed in Kingfisher Cottage for a week at Easter 2011. I can't recommend the cottage highly enough. It's beautifully furnished and decorated, with large, light and airy rooms, the beds are incredibly comfortable with super soft cotton sheets, the bathrooms are spotless, the kitchen is fantastically well stocked and the owners have thought of everything to make the cottage luxurious, yet cosy. There is a very large balcony / terrace outside the front door where you can have your morning coffee in the sunshine while gazing at the beautiful shared gardens and pond. The cottage is hidden away from the road so there is no traffic noise whatsoever, but I'd recommend a sat-nav to both find the cottage and explore the local countryside. The lanes are very narrow and winding and came as a bit of a surprise to a city-girl like me! We had some wonderful days out; I recommend Dartmouth for ferry trips, boat hire, steam train, crabbing and ice-cream, Dittisham for a fab pub and cafe - and more crabbing!, East Portlemouth and East Prawle for beaches and Salcombe is pretty. We had some good green lane walks, esp at East Prawle. We also visited Agatha Christie's house at Greenway nr Dartmouth and, further afield, went to the National Park and Castle Drogo. There is a very well stocked and upmarket farm shop, wood-fired pizza cafe and plant shop in Stokely Barton which is well worth a visit and we used the local Easy Market (about 5 mins drive) for everyday shopping. Lovely local pubs, beautiful countryside and lots to see and do - a perfect British holiday! We hope to return next year.

Just had a great week staying at Kingfisher Cottage. The accommodation is superb with lots of space for everybody. Bedrooms are very comfortable and bathrooms fitted to very high standard. Great sized lounge & kitchen/diner. Excellent base for exploring this part of Devon. Very easy to get to local beaches & places of interest by car. Great pubs not too far away. Cottage is one of a few converted barns rented as holiday lets situated around a central duck pond with communal grounds. Cottage has own large secure terrace - great for children and dogs! Would highly recommend.

We've just returned from a superb relaxing week in the beautiful South Hams area of South Devon based in Kingfisher Cottage.
Kingfisher Cottage was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed just to turn up and chill out!
Our Black Lab Jake loved walking up the drive to the country lane, and to snooze after a day of exploring the coast and countryside in front of the cozy log burner! In every other property we've stayed in we had to buy our own logs - the generous supply included in the rental was a great bonus.
Everything was so easy, from booking through to following directions to the property. The owner James has been very helpful and efficient with everything.
We loved the peace and tranquility of Kingfisher Cottage, yet found it so accessible for local amenities - Kingsbridge supermarkets only 4 miles drive away, and local beaches a short drive away.
WiFi internet access allowed us to keep in touch with our business which was a real added bonus for us.
We will not hesitate about booking another holiday here and would highly recommend Kingfisher Cottage.
