Live like A True New Yorker!! Midtown East, near buses and trains, tons of restaurants and shops. This property has two 2 bedroom apartments available for corporate/holiday rentals. Each apartment comes with 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. **note - 3S has one bathroom that has only toilet and shower (no sink).

This apartment is on the 4th floor of a 4 story low-rise building. It has been completely renovated with new floors, new walls, new kitchen, bathrooms, etc. This apartment features beautiful exposed brick, has 2 bedrooms (full sized bed in each) with 2 full bathrooms (1 bathroom inside one of the rooms). It has a flat screen TV, with a pull out sofa in the living room, and as with all of our apartments, we offer free wi-fi and cable, as well as bed linens and towels. This apartment is well situated in near tons of restaurants and shops, and walking distance to Bloomingdales, Central Park, the 5th Avenue shops, the UN, and Rockefeller Center. The subway is 3 blocks away (4,5,6,N,Q,R,W).

One of the most convenient locations!: Located in the Sutton Place region of Midtown East, this location offers all the convenience, while being surprisingly quiet (as quiet as you can expect from midtown Manhattan, I suppose). The subways are about 2-3 blocks away, and the immediate neighborhood offers tons and tons of restaurants, and services such as nails salons, dry cleaners and laundries, bars, coffee shops, and even a supermarket in a 1 block radius. Make it a 2 block radius and you have a movie theater. The train station is the 59th Street and Lexington avenue subway station what will connect to the 4,5,6,N,R,W which can take you to times square in about 5 minutes, grand central in 5 minutes, Wall Street in 10-15, and Soho in 10-15.

Have the best of both worlds!: Don't stay in Times Square with all of the tourist traps! Stay in a true New York apartment, live like a New Yorker, yet have Times Square and all of the other major tourist attractions be a subway stop away. All of our guests have raved about this location for its historic charm, local convenience, and easy access to the rest of Manhattan.

I would have no hestiation in recommending this property to anyone seeking a 2 bedroom apartment close to all facilities and attractions that New York has to offer.The apartment was clean and secure and with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms easily accomondated 4 adults.Shops are close by as well as numerous restaurants or you could eat in using the self contained kitchen facilities. The Citylights staff(Damon and Peter) were extremely courteous, efficient and went out of their way to make our stay hassle free and memorable.This was greatly appreciated since we were travelling from overseas and arriving in NY late at night. Any request was handled promptly and without an issue.
The property and ammenities was accurately described and represented extremely good value for the cost.
The only drawbak would be the flight of stairs to reach the apartment on the 4 th floor which would not be suitable for people with a disability or maybe elderly couples.
We would certainly book this property without hestiation next time we visit New York and have recommended it to all our friends if they also require a prperty to rent.

Apartment on 1st Avenue

We were warmly welcomed at the apartment by Erik, who gave us a run through and told us how to get to the nearest subway, supermarket and other amenities. The lack of elevator was inconvenient with having to carry up all the suitcases but Erik assisted us with this. The apartment was clean but a little smaller than I thought it would be but probably due to the fact that we had just returned from a huge condo in Lake Placid. Having said that it was sufficient for 4 adults. The one bedroom faces onto 1st Avenue so noisy at night but we had the air conditioning running the whole night which drowned out the noise. And there is air conditioning throughout the apartment which is necessary in summer. The apartment was well equipped except for a washing machine, but there is a friendly dry cleaner (Leo) around the corner and we were even able to leave our bags there after check out as we had a late flight. Near the apartment there is an Italian and Asian restaurant which I would highly recommend. The grocery store adjacent across the road is fantastic and conveniently close!
All in all I would say that the apartment was great and definitely much better than staying in a hotel as you have all the freedom you need.

New York: Apartment in 1st Avenue

We stayed in the apartment for 10 days (2 adults and 2 teenagers). The apartment was very clean and secure and with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms easily accommodated for 4 people. Great for grocery shopping and some good little restaurants right outside the front door. The subway access was very good. The Citylights staff (Eric) was courteous. The downside was the position of the front bedroom, it was facing onto 1st Ave which is extremely noisy day and night.

The drawbacks of our stay:

- The dishwasher didn’t work when we arrived – it was repaired after 8 days, which means too late for us to use it anymore!
- We catched a big cockroach that was crawling in the bedroom.
Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with City Lights Real Estate. We apologize for the dishwasher. The repair company came 3 times to fix it, but it is finally fixed. Sorry it took so long though. And thank you for letting us know about catching the cockroach. We had the exterminator come in after you left to service the apartment, and he has assured us that the apartment is roach free. We're glad to hear you had a great time in NYC, and please contact us again the next time you are in town.

Affordable, Conveniently Located - A Great Deal

As a Bostonian, I'm close enough to NYC to visit 3-5 times a year - & I do.

This was my 1st time renting an apartment, however, & I doubt the experience could have gone much better. The 3 gentlemen who manage this particular property were available, knowledgeable & friendly. The online photos were true to the space, as was the description of the neighborhood & amenities. The apartment was by no means surgically clean, but certainly felt kempt.

The apartment itself is perfect for 4, or even just 2 who want their own private spaces. Our party was made up of 4 adults (2 couples) & having 2 full baths is priceless for NYC (we wouldn't have managed this easily in 1 hotel suite & the cost of 2 rooms would have been higher overall - minus the kitchen & small living area even). The kitchen was actually setup well enough to prepare fully cooked meals. We used it for basic food prep, though, & it was more than efficient. The living/dining area is quite tight, but worked well in the few instances we stayed in to use it.

The only drawbacks:

*This unit is 3 "heighty" flights up (only issue for us was getting luggage in & out).
*I believe each bath only came with 1 roll of toilet tissue each. 2 rolls was not enough for 4 adults staying 5 nights. I don't expect a place to come stocked with 10 rolls, but 2...
*There existed no vacuum, broom, or even dustpan with brush. It would have been nice for cleaning up any dry spills or stray hair. Without daily service & the presence of a kitchen, a broom & dustpan is needed at the very least.

NY apartment on 1st

It was great to be met by the agent and have everything explained to us in relation to the use of TV etc. The apartment was as it appeared in the information on the web
and was really clean and tidy. The only downside was the location of the apartment and the position of the front bedroom, it was facing onto 1st Ave which is extremely noisey day and night. We moved the mattress into the living room to get some sleep. The next door neighbour also liked to have his TV on very loudly until the early hours of the morning.
The location was great and close to everything. It was across the road from a wonderful bar and terrific supermarket and there were some terrific restaurants nearby.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is happy to explore NY on foot and use the subway.
