I am a qualified chef with 16 years experience in the hospitality industry, including several years in the Alps. I own and operate my traditional Savoyard chalet in the lovely village of Samoëns - about 1 hour from Geneva airport. Transfers arranged. * From Samoëns you access the Grand Massif - 260kms of a variety of pistes up to 2,500m. * Ski lifts are each about 800 metres from the chalet * Free ski bus stop 50m from the door. * Ski school operates from the top of the lift * 20% discount on ski hire * 6 double/twin ensuite rooms sleeping 14 * Cot & high chair * Large salon/dining room with a log fire * I offer a hearty breakfast, afternoon tea, & (6 nights) dinner with good quality wine, canapés & a pre & post dinner drink * Children's supper available, & special diets on request * Games room & sauna suite * Separate TV room, WIFI enabled * Child-friendly chalet, large garden * Reductions for children & groups * Self catering offered for full weeks when available

* Samoëns is a very attractive, unspoiled village, the only ski resort in France listed as a 'Monument Historique'. It has a variety of bars & restaurants & a Wednesday market. Visit the Alpine Botanic Garden, museum, cheese-making factory or the massage & fitness centres * In winter there is a nursery for children aged between 3 months & 6 years * Interesting tours of the village & district are led by well informed guides * Santa Claus visits on Christmas Eve & you can dance at Hogmanay * In February there is a weekly 'Savoyard Day' with traditional games, giant tartiflette & dance * The area has some magnificent scenery – nearby Sixt Fer à Cheval, has a wonderful horse-shoe panorama of the surrounding mountains & an impressive waterfall * The area offers a wealth of activities all year round * Aquaparc at Le Bouveret (Switzerland) is a must for families. Its huge indoor and outdoor swimming parc is well worth a day out regardless of weather. - about 1½ hrs drive

Additional information about rental rates

  • *Chalet Marie Stuart can be booked by one group for sole occupancy or by smaller groups & individuals sharing the property with other guests. This only applies for a catered or B&B holiday.*

    Winter weekly self-catered rates from 2400.00 euros - 4000.00 euros.

    In the ski season, a deposit of 150 euros per person is needed to secure your booking, with the final balance being paid 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
  • *April - December

    Weekly self-catered rates for the rest of the year from 1500.00 euros - 2500.00 euros.

    The chalet also operates as a B&B with dinner on request:

    Bed & breakfast from 35 euros pppn.

    A deposit of minimum one night's tariff is required to secure a B&B or Demi Pension booking, and for self catering 35% of the total rental.

    Dinner 25 euros pp. (includes good quality wine with dinner & coffee).

    Packed lunches available & summer barbeques are very welcome at a reduced rate.

    For self catering, a refundable security deposit of 300 GBP / 360 Euros is required on arrival. This will be returned within two (2) weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

    Payments accepted by cash (euros), credit card, bank transfer or a French euro cheque.

Grand Massif area / Samoëns: Samoëns is a very attractive village, situated in the Giffre Valley of Haute Savoie. It is the only ski resort in France to be listed as 'Monument Historique' and retains the qualities of a real French village. It is situated in beautiful countryside and much has been done to make it an attractive holiday place without destroying its very important historical and cultural features. The village has the advantage over some other resorts of being truly French in nature rather than a complex of buildings built only to provide for winter sports. Here, you can experience the real France, as well as enjoying a winter sports or summer holiday.

Having just returned from a week in Chalet Marie Stuart with a party of 12 - if you are undecided if this chalet is suitable for your party - look no further. Its the best chalet holiday we have ever had.

The welcome is excellent, the food and hospitality is the best and Caroline cannot do enough to ensure that your holiday is exactly what you need. I cannot recommend this enough.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers
