Both have a stunning open-plan living area with wood burning stove, vaulted ceiling and large windows looking out to beautiful views, plus front balcony and roof terrace. The resort of Nendaz is at the centre of Switzerland's Four Valleys. It is less than 2 hours drive from Geneva or 20-30 minutes drive from Sion and can also be accessed by train to Sion, then bus to Nendaz. In the winter it provides you with around 412km of pistes across the mountains of Verbier, Siviez, Thyon and Veysonnaz. The resort is at 1365m-3330m and has an excellent snow record. Nendaz is a rare blend of family friendly slopes, spectacular scenery, challenging mogul runs and off-piste free-riding (Beginner 35%, Intermediate 50%, Expert 15%). In the summer the mountains are just as beautiful and offer an equally extensive network of hiking and mountain bike trails, also more gentle walks along the ancient Bisses. The apartment is next to the sports/leisure facilities and only a short walk to the shops (2 supermarkets just 5 minutes walk plus specialist food shops), restaurants (35), bars (7), clubs (3). In winter it is just 10 minutes walk to the Tracouet telecabine.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Cleaning, laundry and local tax are additional and payable locally in cash (Swiss Francs) to the housekeeper on arrival as follows (2009 charges):
    Cleaning charge for whole apartment= CHF 170
    Laundry (bedding, towels, bath mats, dressing gowns) are charged per person = CHF 20 each person
    Visitors Tax is per person, per day = 2 SFR adult or 1 CHF child (6-16 yrs). Children under 6 are free. This Tax is paid by us to the local Tourist Office.
    Rental prices are quoted in pounds. We also accept payment in Swiss Francs or Euros with the currency conversion agreed at time of booking (current rates).
  • 25% of the rental payment to be paid when you book, with the remainder due 8 full weeks before your rental period starts.
    Additionally, a deposit is required to cover any damage or unpaid cleaning charges. This is held by the owners during your stay and will be returned quickly once the cleaners have checked the apartment. Repairs or replacements are charged at cost price and a receipt provided. We do NOT charge for occasional breakages of small kitchen items e.g. a broken plate or glass. If breakages like this occur please let the housekeeper and/or ourselves know so that we can provide replacements for subsequent guests.
  • For larger groups, up to 16 people maximum, it is possible to rent both of the apartments (6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms). One apartment is created by opening up the partition door in the living room (for separate apartment rental the sound-proofed door is locked).

  • Both the apartments have the same layout. All bathrooms are on the first floor and are furnished in a contemporary style with storage space. 2 of the bathrooms are en suite and 1 bathroom serves the upstairs room. The full bathroom (with both bath and shower) is ensuite to the family room (can sleep up to 4). The other 2 bathrooms have enclosed showers. There is underfloor heating and all bathrooms additionally have heated electric towel rails. In addition to large mirrors over the sinks there are magnified mirrors (with light). Towels and bath mats are provided. Adult dressing gowns are provided for bathroom and swimming pool use. The heated indoor swimming pool is accessed via an internal lift, so you can change and go down in your dressing gown or alternatively there is a changing area with hot showers provided.   • In each of the two apartments there is comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 8 people, with 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms in each. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room; 1 family room with ensuite bathroom and 1 double bed separated from 1 double bed (futon style on floor) by built in wardrobes and sliding doors. There is 1 twin room upstairs which has its own dedicated shower room situated at the bottom of the stairs. There is restricted headroom in the futon area of the family room and the upstairs twin room and therefore these rooms are particularly suitable for children. All rooms have ample storage space and all have a hairdryer. The twin room is equipped with a TV monitor, plus DVD player in one apartment and one apartment has a PS3 Player. All beds have single duvets and the double beds are large/Queen sized. For large groups (up to 16), it can be possible to book both apartments together -see separate ad 407642 (includes bedroom photos)

The open plan living space has high vaulted ceilings and panoramic windows. There are 2 comfortable sofas in front of a wood burning stove, plus HD LCD TVs with Sky satellite receivers and BluRay/DVD players.There is a dining table and chairs for 8 people. The kitchen has Bauknecht appliances: electric fan oven. hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, filter coffee maker, fondues, table grill/raclette. Kiitchen is fully equipped for easy self catering. Guests will have access (internal lift) to the laundry room with washing machine (coin meter) and a dryer (free-no meter). As well as a ski locker there is a separate lockable room for other outdoor equipment e.g. boots, bikes & includes heated bootwarmers. The 2 designated parking places (1 undercover, 1 outside) are in prime position in front of the internal doors.

Summertime:: Nendaz is a wonderful location for a summer holiday, an area of breathtaking scenery with forests and mountain lakes in abundance. There are 250 kms of signposted paths for walkers and cyclists. Particularly lovely are the easy walks along the 8 Bisses (98km of paths which run alongside the ancient water channels). There are a wide variety of activities available in addition to walking and cycling: golf,volleyball, climbing, para-ponting, tennis, horse riding are all available locally. Also a fabulous outdoor swimming pool within 3 minutes walk of the apartment. There are great excusions e.g. Sion, Montreux, thermal baths (e.g. Saillon), Lac Souterrain, Adventure Parks,vineyards. Both Sion and Nendaz have weekly street markets with a variety of stalls selling local foodstuffs & gifts. There are a number of events of regional importance, with strong local involvement, creating a rich atmosphere. Note: the lockable ground floor room is ideal for storing bikes, golf clubs etc

Nightlife:: Nendaz has an abundance of very good quality restaurants available within easy walking distance of the apartment. These cover a variety of cuisines including those offering local specialities as well as Sardinian, French and other alternatives. A number of these restaurants are recommended in the Red Michelin Guide . There are also a variety of lively bars. In the ski season, the local ice-skating rink is a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. In the summer there are a number of festivals -see Nendaz Tourist Web Site for details

Outside:: Each apartment has a large terrace with wonderful views across the mountains. There is also a covered balcony with its own spectacular views which runs along the front of the apartment. Tables and chairs are available for al fresco dining on the terraces, together with a BBQ and additional garden furniture (not available in ski season). The swimming pool is on the first floor and is accessible via the internal lift. The pool is about 20m long and loungers are provided on a sun terrace which has beautiful mountain views. There is also a sauna/steam room. In front of the apartment, there is a public playground for children and also a para-ponting landing area which provides entertaining views from the apartment. In winter, there is also a great sledging/bum boarding slope next to the apartment (sledges/bum boards provided). Each apartment has 2 designated parking places in prime positions (closest to indoor doors), 1 of these is undercover.

Other Activities: Children's play area and sports field are next to the apartment block. Within 5 minutes walk: ice skating (winter), indoor and outdoor (summer) pools

Great Summer Retreat

The views from the apartment of the Rhone valley were breathtaking especially in the mornings and late evenings. Nendez itself is a lovely location in the mountains. The town itself had very good facilities with a modern Coop supermarket and good restaurants. The apartment was of a very high standard and equipped with the latest mod cons, although two of the bedrooms had very low ceilings and more suitable for kids or short adults. The owners were very helpful and gave plenty of useful advice. There was enough to do with various sports facilities nearby, walking treks and nearby attractions such as Zermatt and the Matterhorn to visit. If that was not enough, the pool and sauna in the apartment block was spectacular with wonderful views out from the glass fronted pool. All in all we had a marvellous holiday and would certainly recommend both Nendez and the apartment to anyone for a summer vacation.

Summer in the Swiss Alps

Fabulous views and accommodation of a very high standard with accurate information provided on the website and accompanying manual. There is plenty to do during the summer with easy access to nearby tourist destinations in Switzerland and Italy and lots of activities for families including swimming, mountain trails and adventure rope courses. Teenagers would also enjoy paragliding, canonying and white water rafting all of which are possible in the surrounding area.
The owners provided us with lots of useful information beforehand and there is a very helpful tourist office nearby for additional advice. The apartment is also very well located for shopping for food or eating out with supermarkets and a good choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. Recommended for anyone seeking high quality accommodation in a mountain location.

Great Apartment - even better than the pictures!

The apartment is in an excellent location; it's not crowded by other chalets and has really wonderful views of Nendaz and the mountains. It is conveniently located very near to the shops, restaurants and the ski lifts. The apartment has been finished to a really high standard offering a very comfortable, practical and relaxing place to return to after a day skiing or walking in the mountains. I think the kitchen/living room area would work for both small and big parties as there is plenty of space. The icing on the cake was the lovely pool and spa! It’s the best ski apartment we’ve ever stayed in and we’ll certainly be going back.

We had an excellent stay - beautiful views out of the double floor window across the Rhone valley. Spacious open plan kitchen/lounge/dining table with satellite flat screen and sound bar, balcony 2 ways and good ensuite bedrooms. Lovely pool facility downstairs or by lift. Skiing was mainly accessible through Siviez. Good boot room with heated rack. Plenty of facilities in Nendaz with good restaurants. Property looks new and was clean.

Lovely apartment - everything as described. Plenty of space and facilities for either families or group of friends.
Spectacular views of the mountains and valley - especially in the snow. I can imagine that it to be equally attractive to summer walkers as well as winter skiers.
Would definitely return.
