Good for a one week break

A very comfortable and clean apartment, finished to a high specification. There were 3 of us staying and it was great for us, would be fine for 4 people too, but a bit of a squeeze for 6!
The walk to the sea is very steep and would be challenging for the less able.
The village centre is a short walk away and has good shops. Only one restaurant in walking distance, but it is a good one.
We hired a car and preferred to drive over the top of the island to the beach on the other side as it was easier to park and more accessible.
Trogir is lovely, but the traffic jam to get there in August is somenthing to bear in mind.

Apartment Jorun, Okrug Gornji

FiJi Chichester, West Sussex
Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The apartment was absolutely beautiful - just as the photographs promised. The view from the balcony was spectacular, especially at sunset. The beds were comfortable, there was air-conditioning in each of the bedrooms and living area and the kitchen was extremely well-equipped.
Of course, in order to have that spectacular view, the apartment needed to be high up The walk from the apartment to the beach was 7 minutes downhill but the walk back is excruciatingly steep, and especially hard when loaded down with bags, lilos etc!!! Kept us fit if nothing else!
The beach itself was long, but not deep and was very, very busy; the sea was safe for the children to swim in. The only moan would be the loud music which came from many of the beach bars, from as early as four o'clock in the afternoon. Not especially relaxing! At night Okrug and the beach area was busy - we found a lovely restaurant which was situated at the North end of the beach, but we would say that you should definitely spend some evenings in Trogir. What a wonderful old town, in beautiful condition and steeped in history. The boat 'taxi' is the way to travel between the two places - we spent nine days without a car and didn't really miss one, but beware when getting a taxi to the airport - it's an absolute rip-off!!
Just another moan - very loud music from the harbour on Saturday evenings and, when we were there, on Wednesday as well, both until 1.30 in the morning.
All in all we had a really lovely holiday - the apartment is a very good choice as long as you are not elderly, have a heart condition or have very small children with you!!! The view is definitely worth the climb though!!!

Fantastic apartment - details don't do it justice!

Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This is a really beautiful apartment in a lovely resort. The details really don't do the place justice - the apartment has a huge balcony that runs along the front with fantastic views . Everything is very modern and clean, there is a dishwasher, huge plasma TV, air-conditioning etc. Highly recommended. The building itself is at the top of quite a steep hill so it wouldn't suit the elderly or people with buggies but it benefits from being a bit away from the main road and the bars as they could be quite noisy.

Ciovo is a little island that is connected to Trogir by a bridge. The roads get really busy (i.e. can take you 45 minutes to get off the island) but you can get a little boat from the beach at Okrug Gornji to Trogir so it's not really a problem and the traffic is better if you leave early.

Great views

Review Submitted: August 2, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The appartment is in a block at the top of the hill that overlooks the resort of Okrug Gornji. We never tired of the panoramic view over the sea with the changing light. The appartment is large, beautifully furnished and superbly equipped. In terms of activities we took the boat into Trogir for the evening a few times which was great fun. Okrug itself is a slightly brash resort with little to detain you it whereas Trogir is a jewel of a medieval town with narrow streets and atmospheric restaurants. In terms of beaches they are all of the gravel variety. We found a nice pine fringed beach in Okrug Donji down the road. The property is managed by an agency who were professional and especially helpful when we left our passports behind! We had trouble finding the place from the directions. I would recommend locating it on a map. The other thing to watch our for is the traffic bottleneck from Ciovo island into Trogir. We made 4 day trips onto the mainland and it took 45 minutes to travel the 3km each time.

Apartment Frida

Review Submitted: May 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The decripton of the property was accurate. The apartment was very clean, modern and well equiped. The shower in particular was an experience (spotlights and radio). A welcome pack with water would have been useful as arriving late on Saturday and all shops being shut on Sundays left us in a predicament until we found the green market in Trogir which opens on a Sunday. It is worth noting that the glass in the double glazed doors is not toughened safety glass. I did not notice it was shut and walked into it. The door shattered, cuting my leg and costing me 150 euros. It could have been a lot worse, especially if a toddler had run into the door.
The view from the balcony was great but it is likely that the gap betwen two apartment blocks through which we viewed the bay, will soon be filled by another apartment block.
The staff in the acccommodation bureau were very helpful.
