Northgate Cottage overlooks the Green in the seaside village of Rottingdean, in view of the historic windmill and within 200 yards of the famous Kiplings Gardens. The cosmopolitan city of Brighton is just 3 miles away, accessible via the coastal road that has a regular bus service to the city. Rottingdean is an active village in the south downs with a full range of shops, banks, restaurants, library and has a pebble beach. There is an interesting under-cliff walk linking Rottingdean village with the Brighton Marina. This coastal protection walkway is accessible at all times of the year and is popular with the local residents, providing pedestrian and cycle access to the expansive natural area of the coastline with its many rock formations, coves and beaches for bathing. Rottingdean is an ideal location just outside the city of Brighton, 55 miles south of London and within 45 minutes drive from Gatwick Airport. Newhaven is within 7 miles with a ferry services to the continent.
