Photos and Description of this Pula holiday villa A self-catering villa in a quiet location, close to the lively town of Pula.

Casa Querce is a superb self-catering villa with a pool set in a rural location. It boasts immaculately kept lawn and gardens with a glassy pond surrounded by reeds, lentisco and ancient holm oak trees. The general atmosphere is overwhelmingly rural despite the lively town of Pula being only a couple of kilometres away. The gardens also conceal what is probably the property’s jewel: the dazzling pool. Surrounded by sculpted rock gardens and low shrubs, this area gets the sun all day long, though you can seek shade under some nearby olive trees. At the centre of the grounds stands the ochre coloured house. All on one level it has a cool, alluring interior. The split-level lounge area is decorated with a number of odd artefacts from the owner’s extensive travels and there is dark chocolate coloured furniture, which is set off against the white walls. The well-equipped and sizeable kitchen opens out onto a large terrace area. Property available from Saturday to Saturday only.

It has taken much longer for visitors to discover the incredibly wild, beautiful and unspoilt region of Southern Sardinia. Outside of the busy capital and port of Cagliari the south is less commercialised than the north of the island; and the southern coastline boasts stunning beaches and crystal clear seas. It is teeming with dramatic mountain ranges, interesting wildlife and prehistoric sites. This region’s real lures are its pristine and uncrowded beaches that punctuate most of the southern coastline. Yet there is a good deal else to draw you here: the dramatic sweep of the inland Sulcis mountains, the character filled town of Pula with its neat piazza and fine restaurants; and the capital itself which throbs with typical Sardinian energy.
