Coast/Beach:
Praia D'el Rey boasts its own fabulous stretch of long sandy beach, which is great for sunbathing and walking. Strong currents and a constant sea swell, however, make it unsuitable for swimming in areas without a life guard. The nearby Obidos lagoon and Peniche beach are much calmer and great for kids. There are several great spots for surfing and other water sports. South of the resort, the beaches of Baleal, Peniche and Supertubes offer superb surfing conditions. Board hire/lessons available.
Amenities:
There is a small supermarket on the resort. Other supermarkets are located in Peniche and Caldas da Rainha. There is a cash machine and telephone outside the club house. The restaurant in the club house is excellent (take out also available) and the restaurant in the hotel also offer fine cuisine.
Other than golf, activities include:-
Tennis: Courts can be booked for a knock around or for the more serious, one to one coaching is available at the tennis complex, a 3 minute walk from the villa.
Football: There is an international FIFA standard football pitch. Volleyball and handball courts also available.
Mountain biking and walking: The surrounding pine forests and coastal roads are idyllic for walking and biking. Bikes can be hired from the hotel.
Notes on prices:
Prices shown are for the property per week (and per day) in UK pounds.
