Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa:
Holiday makers return year after year to this part of the island, attracted by the historic towns, great beaches, and above all, the special Mediterranean atmosphere. The countryside in the bay of Pollensa is really lovely, all under the dramatic backdrop of mountain ranges.
A special place between Puerto Pollensa and Pollensa town, is Cala San Vicente. Cala means ' small bay' in Spanish, and here there are 3 small calas enclosed by breathtakingly high sheer rock cliffs. The water is clear turquoise for wonderful swimming, diving, or just enjoying the magnificent vista.
After a hard day at the beach, or around the private pool at your villa, Puerto Pollensa offers a huge variety of excellent restaurants for an evening meal, where you will be well looked after by the local restaurateurs. Or take a stroll in the cool of the evening, and then enjoy a refreshment at one of the many sidewalk cafes, and watch the world go by.
Market days: Wednesday in the Port, Sunday in Pollensa.
Magic!:
Puerto Pollensa has grown over the years, but it still retains the feeling of a sleepy seaside town, where the locals will welcome you back year after year. The famous pine walk is uniquely charming, with the small beaches on one side, and picturesque houses, cafes and restaurants on the other. You can walk everywhere, all the while enjoying the relaxed holiday atmosphere. It is indeed magic how it accommodates thousands of holidaymakers every year, and never seems too big or overcrowded.
Pollensa old town also has its own charm. It is dotted with lovely small shops offering locally made arts and crafts, unique jewellery, pottery and clothing. Culturally, it is one of the most active towns on the island, with many art galleries, and musical concerts. The highlight of the year is the summer festival, where during July and August, world class acts perform at the historic outdoor venue - the Cloisters, for an unforgettable evening of music, dance or theatre, under the starry sky
Unwind!:
While staying at this lovely villa, your holiday can be as relaxed, or active as you choose. The warm Spanish sun will make the water of your private pool very inviting, but as well, you are spoilt for choice for beaches. The wonderful 12km long, white sandy beach of Puerto Alcudia is only 7 kms away, and its gently sloping shore make it very safe for children.
The beach of Puerto Pollensa is closer at about 5 kms, and stretches from the boat harbour to the entrance of the town, so there is also plenty of space. And don´t forget Cala San Vicente! ( see para. 1)
At the villa, there is a large lawn area, trees for shade, and stone paving around the pool. There are no neighbouring properties that overlook any part of the garden, pool or villa, so you are assured complete privacy. As a summary, this is a great place for a very relaxing family holiday - you are in the quiet, peaceful countryside of the Pollensa Bay, and only a short drive to beaches and towns - the perfect combination!
