Gwynedd - Snowdonia holiday cottage: Llanelian, near Colwyn Bay

We stayed in the old postoffice for a week in august 2009. Both of us and our two sons of 12 and 16 enjoyed it very much. It's a lovely cosy cottage in a very small village, but close to everything you need (5-10 minutes by car to shops). There's a modern well-equiped kitchen and a small neat bathroom. The sleeping rooms offered a comfortable peaceful nightrest. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. At arrival we were welcomed by a very enthusiastic property manager.
The cottage is a good starting point for discovering the area. If the weather is good (and we were lucky to have a nice week!) you can spend time at the beach. Llandudno is a nice crowded beachtown and it's worth to visit the Great Orme. We did so on foot but you can also take a tram or cable car. Also closeby and interesting is Conwy. We also spent some time in Snowdonia National Park. We hiked the Snowdon (with thousands of others that day) and went to the Swallow Falls near Betws-y-Coed. All very lovely but a little too crowded...
Across the old postoffice is a nice pub where you can enjoy a good meal and taste some of the local ales.
We had a lovely time and we would certainly recommend friends to go there!
