The cottages are set in a small village called Lamberniere in the commune of Mons. The town of Matha to the north is just 5 minutes away and is great for local shopping with supermarkets, bakers and restaurants. The historic town of Cognac is 20 minutes to the south. Famous for its brandy houses which offer tours and tastings and set beside the River Charente,Cognac offers much to enjoy. The visitor can take advantage of boating facilities on the river, take the children to the leisure facilities on the riverside or just enjoy strolling along the walking precincts, stopping for a drink or a meal in one of the many outdoor cafes and restaurants in the town centre.

A single-storey cottage renovated with taste and artistic flair.Where possible, stone walls have been retained to keep the character & atmosphere & pictures, mirrors & objets d'art add interest .The unusual shaped lounge has a sofa,2 armchairs,coffee tables and a bookcase.All rooms have electric heaters and the lounge also has a wood-burning stove for cosiness in Winter. Wide-screen TV offers French and English TV and a wide variety of DVDs and tapes can be played on the combination player. The lounge leads into a spacious kitchen/diner,well equipped with a 5 ring gas cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine,microwave,electric kettle and toaster.The bedrooms and bathroom lead off the kitchen. One bedroom sleeps 2 in a double bed ,the other has two single beds.The bathroom has a bath/shower,washbasin, toilet & heated towel rail. Stable doors lead from the kitchen onto a private patio and private section of garden,furnished with sunbeds, BBQ, table, chairs, parasols.The 10X5m pool.

The Roman town of Saintes with its amphitheatre is 30 minutes away and offers comprehensive shopping facilities. Wonderful sandy beaches around Royan can be reached in 1 hour. For golfers, there are courses at Cognac and Saintes and for tennis players there is a court at Mons, a short walk away. A leisure lake with restaurant is within a few minutes, and is great for a casual evening meal on warm summer evenings, very child friendly and easygoing. The cottages are therefore well situated to take advantage of many varied options,set as they are in a peaceful country setting, but not isolated.
