The Casa Sintra apartment lies in the historic epicentre of the town-centre of Sintra (UNESCO-World-heritage), in-between ferry-tale Castles and medieval town streets. You may walk, without necessity of car and exploit comfortably the charming surroundings without stress and hustle. Just start the day with a coffee at the famous bakery “Piriquita”. Casa Sintra has 65 comfortable square meters, perfect for 2 or 4 people. Living-room, Sleeping-room and kitchen all have direct views to the charming town-streets on leave-level of old trees. Charm and noble atmosphere are dominant. Lisbon, Cascais and Estoril can be reached by car, train or bus everyday. There is a tramline, which connects Sintra, Banzão (near Colares, famous for its excellent wine) and Praia das Maçãs, the best known beach on the Sintra coast line. It operates Friday to Sunday.

The potentialities of the Sintra district are not confined to the wild enchantments of the Serra and to the artistic heritage of the Old Town, described by Byron as 'the most pleasing in Europe', but also include valuable archaeological remains, particularly from the Roman period, ancient manor houses, churches of personalised artistic value and characteristic villages.

You can choose to have a walk and there's a lot to be seen like visiting the old Palace just in front, visiting museums, old quintas like Regaleira and Monserrate. You can also rent a car or bicicles just in front of the appartment and go to the famous beaches around, like Praia da Ericeira and Praia Grande a surfer's paradise or Guincho , Praia Grande, Praia da Adraga, and other famous ones.

The apartment was ideally situated to explore Sintra. The National Palace (a must see) was just around the corner, restaurants and shops all around, and regular buses to visit other historic sights.We particularly enjoyed taking the old tram to the coast for the day. Being so central, we were able to watch from the balcony as the day evolved - workers preparing for the day ahead, the gradual build up as visitors arrived to throng the square, and the slow down as evening approached.
The apartment is attractive and well appointed. Our host was friendly and helpful. We would certainly visit again.
