Skiing: Excellent skiing is enjoyed by Italian families who travel far every year to the Gran Sasso and Maiella slopes with all their facilities. All venues have chair lifts and button tows, with Gran Sasso having its own cable car. There are areas and maps available for those wanting to cross country ski too.

Mountain Biking: There are also mapped mountain bike trails that can take you over 6000ft or over 20miles. Bikes are available at extra cost.

Horse riding: There are stables within 40mins of the Villa that can rent horses by the hour, half or full day.

We stayed at this property for three weeks in Jun/Jul 2009. We had the most superb time, despite the rain! Linda & Rob are extremely friendly knowledgeable hosts and the first evening meal is heaven sent. The property is very clean and well maintained, with a very well provided kitchen that it was a pleasure to cook in. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants around but a smattering of Italian is essential. The Gran Sasso National Park is stunning and we had a wonderful day travelling right over them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Linda & Rob.

This villa was everything that we could have hoped for; clean, spacious, tastefully and thoughtfully kitted out with everything from mod-cons to regional cookbooks. A well-situated location with an unforgettable view (just wanted to bottle it and take it home), and having the freedom to use all the land was fantastic; it was enclosed, private and safe and our daughters loved exploring it - they were never bored. Villa Bosco positively encouraged total relaxation!
Linda and Rob are great hosts with just the right amount of involvement - lovely touch providing that first evening meal and first breakfast, it really takes the pressure off immediately, and the cooking was delicious!
There are restaurants nearby, but we really enjoyed sourcing local produce and getting into cooking the Italian way. The kitchen is well-kitted out and there is a BBQ available to use.
A beautiful part of Italy, so much to explore, and its the real thing, not the tourist track. A rental car is essential, and some Italian (if not alot) is definately a bonus! Rob and Linda love their region and know of places to suit everyone.
We would have no problems recommending this to our friends and family, and we are already being asked by our daughters when we can go back!

What a perfect apartment! From the welcoming supper on arrival to the delightful, pristine and stylish accommodation. Gorgeous location and wonderful hosts. Our stay was fabulous in every way and the area is superbly located near historic villages with many restaurants nearby for delicious local food at fantastic prices. We'll be back.

The undiscovered Italy

Our stay was all that we hoped for, from our first arrival through to our departure. Linda and Rob were warm and friendly and took the time to show us around the local area. The welcome meal on the first night was very enjoyable, and saved the need for cooking on the first day. Villa Bosco is well laid out with everything that could be required and it is scrupulously clean and comfortable. Set in its own grounds it offers space, tranquility and privacy. There is something for everyone in this special part of Italy ranging from sleepy hillside villages, small towns and the young vibrant City of Pescara. The Adriatic coast has many ‘blue flag’ beaches that extend for miles and are within reasonable reach by car. The intrepid can walk in the mountains in half an hour or drive to Rome in about two and a half hours. Abruzzo is different and is un-spoilt. A stay at Villa Bosco is highly recommended.

The pictures don't do justice to this place: the apartment is stunning with every facility and bags of character. Breakfast on the balcony, drinks on the private terrace, BBQs overlooking rolling countryside and medieval hilltop towns. Life's really tough here..... Perfect get-away-from-it-all location. Great restaurants at all prices, cafes in village piazzas, days out and walks in the mountains and National Park. A bit remote for teenagers - but secluded, romantic and idyllic for the rest of us. [English] hosts couldn't be more friendly and helpful. We're going back.
