Additional information about rental rates

  • Arrival is after 4.00 pm and departure is before 11.00 am.

    Rental includes towels, bedding and pool towels.
    These will be made on beds and in rooms necessary for arrival.
    Property must be left clean on day of departure to the standard as on day of arrival.
    Linen to be stripped off beds and left with all used towels in Utility room.
    Fire, Aga and cookers must be left clean. Dishwasher empty and bathrooms cleaned properly.
    Cleaning can be arranged locally at 80 pounds per stay, paid locally by Cash /Cheque, Euro or UK.
    This is not mandatory it's entirely up to you, and is helpfull you have an early departure or just would prefer not to worry at the end of your holiday.
    Weekly cleaning or change of linen and towels can also be arranged.
  • Security deposit of 400 pounds is taken on day of arrival as cash or by cheque.
    Credit card can be pre authorised to cover this deposit but must be arranged at the time of your final payment or at the date of booking.
    This will then be returned on day of departure, or not used in the case of a credit card guarantee..
    A deposit of 30 % is taken on date of booking and can paid direct into our bank account in France in Euro, or UK in Pounds, or by post by cheque again Euro or Pounds, or credit/debit card in Pounds by telephone.
    Please contact us for clarification of your personal circumstances as US Dollars could also be accepted.
  • Pool heating is automatic and included in rental. May to September.Please bear in mind that the temperature of the pool is based on the climate conditions during your stay and the pool cover must be used whilst not swimming to keep in the heat. If the cover is left off over night it will take two days to recover !!
    All heating and service costs ( Oil Gas Water) are included for these months, to an estimated use.
    Electricity may be extra if excessive use.
    All other months the Electricity ONLY will be metered and charged at end a rental and must be paid as Euro or cheque UK.
    Logs for the fire are included and already cut to size for free use.
    Rental rates are for occupancy of 10 people including children, if your party is for more or less people please contact us to check for price.

Notes: The house is full of good quality furnishings yet very suitable and easy to arrange for families. There are NO COTS / HIGHCHAIRS facilities are geared to children above 5 years. INC PLAYSTATION 2/ PC There is a baby grand piano many antiques and pictures. The swimming pool is climate controlled 10 x 5 m, central depth to 2m sloping to a 1m ledge right around to Roman flat steps giving just inches to step down into. It has an alarm and a wall to two sides, but is accessible from the garden and we would NOT ACCEPT TODDLERS for this reason. The alarm is loud but the pool is away from the house and speed may not be enough. Dogs can be allowed but not in any upstairs rooms as we also use the house and our daughter suffers from Asthma and Eczema we try to keep the house as allergen free as possible. There is a kennel in the garden, centrally heated cat house + heated beds. Please contact us for further details NO SMOKING is permitted in the house and security deposit will be lost.

Golf: There is an 18 hole golf course within 15 minutes that allows day green fees. Exceptional value at 25 Euros. There is a clubhouse bar and restaurant facilities. Golf hire and caddy hire also available. Although we have ample storage at the house for your own clubs etc.

Watersports at Lake Dachee: Windsurfing/canoes etc. are available to hire at this centre also within 15 minutes of house New Bowling, squash, gym with Sauna etc. now in Vire at 15 mins

River rafting Paragliding: Many outdoor activities are locally available. If any sport is needed, relevant information can be sent by email before booking to enable some knowledgeable research in preparation of your stay

Family holiday in France

We returned from our "special family holiday" on June 17th 09 having had a wonderful time. It was my wifes birthday and we wanted somewhere special to celebrate with all the family. There was 10 of us altogether including 2 children aged 9 and 11 and a 1 year old. We wanted enough room to have our own space and this house certainly came up to expectations. The owners were very attentative before the holiday and even contacted us whilst there to make sure things were ok. Fran who looks after the house met us and showed us around and was there if we needed anything. The house was clean and tidy throughout and all the rooms were well furnished.We had enough cutlery and utensils for all our party. The gardens are stunning and very private and the swimming pool first class.We would thoroughly recommend this property and would not hesitate to use it again if in this area.

Best holiday Property

Our family ranging in age from grandparents to a 1 year old arrived at the House in the rain.We were greeted warmly and shown around, all the rooms had beds made up which was great after a long drive.We never expected to be able to use the pool after all it was the end of October but the days just got better and better .The house is really cosy, but we all had our own space when needed,what can we say other than we wish we could have stayed longer.Best holiday so far for all the family.Susan and Clan.

Relaxation in splendid surroundings

Our party of eight adults had a marvellous time relaxing in this beautiful farmhouse, which exceeded our expectations. The house was delightful and the pool was extremely well used during our stay, always at a great temperature. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The house is set just outside a charming market town, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Well placed for touring around Normandy, and quietly relaxing when we returned. The best restaurant was Moulin de Jean, just 15 drive minutes away. A car is a must for exploring. We loved it, thanks very much for sharing it with us Yvonne!

Beautiful house in a lovely situation, loads of character and plenty of room for extended family. We were 8 adults and 6 children including baby and had plenty of room. Kitchen had plenty of everything you need. Attic was great for children and they enjoyed the toys and playstation. Pool was great, couldn't get the kids out of it and gardens lovely. Sourdeval is a nice small town with very nice Boulangerie for morning croissants. Ideally situated for visiting places of interest. Would definitely love to go back.

very accurate discription of a very clean well looked after property. lovely warm pool for the energetic or lazy holidayer.good sized garden and loads of parking space.
location is great for getting to places like war graves,bayeux to see the tapestry,vere is a lovely village with it`s weekly market lots of bars &restaurants the zoo should not be missed at CHAMPREPUS; GRANVILLE is another place well worth a visit.villedieu is the place for a place full of polished brasswares.
there is so many places to see in this area a good map would be invaluable.
